This was brought to my mind by "The Climactic Moment..." thread..
Every time I have watched the movie, I've been a little bit put off how Jake enters the final battle. Quaritch was right about to kill Neytiri and Jake just walks in "give up Quaritch" like there was nothing to worry about. They are mated for life, and she had fought to defend him with such a spirit saving his life dozen times already, that I definitely find Jake's attitude rather disrespectful ![]() Thoughts? |

He may not have even realized Neytiri was the Na'vi who had been fighting Quaritch. All he saw was Quaritch about to kill someone, and recall Quaritch was standing between Jake and Neytiri. Therefore, it's unlikely Jake realized it was Neytiri.

And besides, the Na'vi ARE winning, so.

I completely agree with Snowrider and Ashen Key on this one. Jake's main goal was to help protect all the Na'vi from RDA and Quaritch. Jake had to endure alot of crazy fighting and I commend him on his courage and valor in such a situation. I am sure his mind wasn't completely focused on Neytiri and her well being as I am sure he already knows that she is strong, independent and not to mention a great warrior herself.![]()

Exactly. So, you could also see it as a form of respect - she's not dead, he trusts her to take care of herself while he's dealing with the unwounded threat without actively worrying about her at the moment in time.

Military training, I believe.
Quaritch would have perceived Jake as a greater threat, so there was no danger to Neytiri.

Yelling out "NOOOooo!" could also have made Quaritch more likely to kill her before turning around.

I just thought it was weird how Jake just jumps from the top of nowhere into the scene. They should of shown him jumping from the top of a small cliff or tree instead.

It deeply bothers me, too. I'm just like, 'where DID you come from?!' every time I see the scene.

Ahh, you are right. I suppose Jake didn't really know it was Neytiri there. Thanks for clearing this out

Anyway, while a different way might have been more dramatic, it would cause a problem with him knowing as above, and that would actually bother me, while the way it happens really does not.

That Jake went directly to the link room is not implausible. I would check it out to make sure its safe too. What I would be more interested in knowing is how Quaritch found out where the link room was in the first place. If I could hazard a guess, his original destination was probably the Tree of Souls on foot which is insane if you think about how hundreds of Navi warriors would be left there still. He perhaps stumbled upon the link room by accident en route, maybe his AMP suit could detect it from a short distance away; I don't know.

I think that Jake just followed the trail of AMP Suit. It won't be hard to find footsteps of huge, heavy machine
