Default So, I'm learning GIMP... (not really avatar related)

EVE alliance is going to war, and that means propaganda to keep spirits high. I'm just barely getting to understand how photo-editing works (my signatures and such up to this point have been a combination of paint, Microsoft office, and Microsoft photo editor)

I know we have quite a few Photoshopping people (I'd even go as far to say experts) that peruse the forums, and I'd just like to know what you think of something I've put together while feeling my way through tutorials and such for GIMP.

Thats quite a beautiful propaganda poster and well made too.

My only comment is that the bottom part of the circle that is the sun sticks out. It seems as if there is a straight line dividing it where the image you transposed on top ends. Try and copy and paste a small portion of the partially transparent background of the top image over the bottom part of the star so it doesn't stick out then take a large fuzzy brush and dab the bottom of layer to smooth it out. You could also use a transparency gradient to ease out that dividing line.

Nice work! GIMP is a very capable piece of software (after you get past the positively schizophrenic user interface--which is really just typical of apps with origins in X Windows, IMO).

heh, the interface is the main problem with GIMP.

Nice art though - I wouldn't consider myself good enough to offer advice, but it's well done

Knowing how bloodthirsty people can get on online games, I'd say ^ is a great morale booster.

Lol, I think it looks great.

My dabblings in GIMP don't even look half that good :P
