They fit the films, but I found them forgettable - Avatar is the only soundtrack I have ever been drawn to outside of the film to the point of buying it, rather than maybe listening once or twice on youtube to a couple of tracks if someone mentions them.

I have the LOTR soundtrack....I have not purchased the LOTR soundtrack. I love them but the best part about them is the amount of work that went into it. Howard Shore wrote over twenty hours worth of music for the films. That is practically unheard of. I am not dissing the Avatar soundtrack at all, its is very good, but not the best. Actually I lied further up about LOTR being the best, real ranking goes like this 1.) Star Wars Original Trilogy 2.)LOTR 3.)Avatar

It appears that you're a man of taste, Cyvaris.
 I totally agree with your number one, though I personally like the Inception soundtrack probably more than Avatar and definitely more than Lord of the Rings. Okay, I don't like the movie trilogy that much, but I still appreciate the great music. Star Wars Soundtrack from I to III is indeed not that great, even though it also has some very nice themes. Thinking of "Across the Stars" or "Anakin's Betrayal", for example. But in general it surely is not comparable to the old trilogy. Just like the movies themselves, but here the quality loss is - in my opinion - much worse than in the soundtracks.

Why thank you for the compliment, I try to be a man of exceptional tastes.
I must say that I really enjoy the Avatar soundtrack. I prefer the Complete version only because it includes what I think is the best track "Quaritch Down(Alt open)". That piece is just fantastic.
