Yeah there are established shipping routes..the ship was way off course..
Hopefully now they might be stricter with monitoring the site..it's heritage listed and all that so you'd that the government might do more..

UPDATE Australia is pissed. The captain could be subject to 3 years in prison and a $5 million fine. They were 12 km outside the shipping lane!

I was kind of surprised, China and Australia do a lot of business. There has been a lot of debate over them supplying fuel for other countries.

I believe if Spock was the captain of the Titanic the response at impact would merely have been: Fascinating.
