Weighted lunges are extremely good too, if they're heavy enough. They work each leg individually as well as testing your proprioception. I've just got back from my main leg day and I feel a bit sick and can barely walk straight. On the other hand, I've got that lovely post-training euphoria goin' on as well, so it's all good.

WOW Sarah I JUST finished sending a 3 part message to some one on TOS on the very same thing!! You can paint and buy all you want. The hard part is the diet and the gym everyday. She was at Seattle in the group and saw us. I hope she reads this Thread! You give excellent advice.

Kiyvame ma tsmuskan,

I've texted you about your costume, diet, and exercise. I saw your video. I think you spent 18 hours with your "mates" to do it!

Well done

I grew up on a farm too,

Sorry, done trolling now
More on topic, I don't diet. Not ever. But I think I probably could and wouldn't have a problem with it if I actually had a purpose in doing so, and avatar/na'vi costumes are a great purpose. I plan on getting mine together hopefully in time for next year, but I prioritize the exopack first since I want to do that right :] I have been exercising way more lately, now I just have to start... counting calories... my worse nightmare

I'm on a very slow internet right now, and after your "And you do, and I do" I saw a picture was loading very slowly, and there was this feeling in my head sort of like "it's going to be the fast food picture, she really posted it to the diet board" and as its sections loaded very slowly, low and behold it was.

For everyone trying their hand in physical fitness this is a perfect example of what not to do.

I'll teach you the tips and tricks to calorie counting if you ever give it a shot, I know you'd really hate it though and it'd be hard for you to get used to it at first.

I think I'm going to try to avoid that part as much as I can. I'll still eat what I want and just watch quantities rather than be so specific, and get the actual gain by just trying to do a bit more on the exercise side.

Well you're really skinny, so I wouldn't think counting calories would be the best strategy for you. My main goal, however, would be to lose ten pounds.

I'm posting my current weight so I'll finally get some things done and work on this: 148 lbs

Goal weight: get to 135 maybe, I'll figure it out when I get there? when I was 142 I still wasn't quite there.

Well, just to put in some of my personal weigh loss, I was 415lbs, now at 305lbs, still like to loose alot more, but gentics and large bone structure, tend to factor aswell. I was alway big boned, and larger than most, for example I was 2 months premature at 12lbs 2oz, when I was born. It is alot af work, but slow loss is better than fast loss.

That's really awesome, James! And slow loss is much better and healthier than fast loss. My highest weight, I think, was 168 or slighty above. After seeing Avatar I lost 27 lbs. Unfortunately, I have put a few of them back on, but I'm working on getting them off for good. I'm going to be running in a 5K in September so I'm training for that now. I haven't weighed myself lately, but I'll be doing that soon so I can keep track of everything.

And yes, MOMS, I have read this post!

Love seeing people get into fitness!

Ive been serious into it for a while now! Currently going opposite and trying to gain weight (in the form of muscle of course) I actually dont find the hardest part though to be counting my calories, I cut that out easily by weight everything I eat. I know how many grams of fat, carb, protein, I need for each meal so I work from that.

Lost another five pounds so far...

(was at 185, went up to 200, back down to 195-ish).
