Not sure if I'll use contacts. I'll probably get some cheapies and if for some reason they don't stay in my eye, I'll just be a funky gray eye avatar

I'm short sighted, so I'll either have to find some yellow ones that match my prescription, or have grey eyes.

I use a compressor and airbrush. Venture Star does too. It's faster and coats better. It's about $400 dollars including an Elipse top loading airbrush. If you want more info contact me too.
I too got the Na'vi non prescription contacts. I wear contacts normally. I put the normal ones on first then the Na'vi. It worked. I wore them in Seattle. also I have some rave yellow that glow in a black light. I'm going to change my face prosethics because you can't see my eyes. I will either get one made from silicon or the Reelmagik female. Jessie from Reelmagik said a lot of guys buy that one to see their eyes more. I'm going to make my ears bigger so that cover my lobes completely. They will be half foam latex for support, half silicon for a better fit. I learned the same way Sarah did. Put your contacts in FIRST! |

One more thing. I put my sealer on too thick. I need to to it lighter next time. It's a constant learning experience. And you always need someone else to do your back, and hopefully other places. I was so lucky to have James of Terra! He already knew how to use an airbrush, worked for 6 hours putting it all on. He was secure enough to paint a near naked man that he just met the night before. Plus he was my "purse," to hold and carry my stuff all day!
This is when you find out who your true friends are. |

Not yet! So far it's still all been done by hand with brushes and sponges. Will try an airbrush for some of the details next time though.

I like doing all my paint by hand, my stripes come out good and crisp, and my paint application takes about 4 hours now since I've done it so much, MOM's says his airbrush takes 6, and hand painting is cheaper for me.

I've always done mine by hand too, I think last time it took me 3-4 hours.

You could maybe quicken the time by getting a quick dry body/face paint in light blue and apply it with a sponge then make the dark stripes with a thin paintbrush.

By the time I'm done with the base application, the body parts I've started with are dry enough for stripes over it, while the rest of me dries. But that might be because I'm a little slow with base application.
