Yeah - I think also that this scene should have stayed. More people showing to be allies with the NA'Vi
We get so few information on other Avatars except the three main ones... In a draft I read, it was obvious that almost all Avatar drivers by experiencing Pandora in that body and by interacting with the NA'Vi preferred that life over their human ones

Oh definitely. I mean who of us would not. Ok some would not, but I definitely would choose to be a "traitor"
and rather run through the forests of Pandora in an Avatar body than to participate in its destruction...

Indeed, it was a great scene, especially for Max

jake only lived with them for 3 months, same with Norm ._. and who said they were friends? living together with people for years doesn't make you friends. yeah, i would've done it as well

Ihmo it's not about fighting "humans as such". If we remember, those particular skypeople were, in Jake's terms, "hired assassins killing for money," or how it went... for one, I would pull the trigger at Wainfleet no doubt (but the thurmbeast got there first
).Added: I mean, human beings are not "bad by default". I had one dream (yeah, me & my dreams ) where I was an Avatar driver holding a little Na'vi girl in my arms. She was pointing at Grace, Max, Trudy, Norm with her finger & saying: "Good skyperson. Good skyperson. Good skyperson". I was thinking that she was small - but wise. From the mouth of babe's...

Exactly. I really doubt the scientists and marines would have got on, because they are entirely different personalities, ways of living, and there for completely opposing reasons.

Yeah exactly - many of the other Avatars were on Pandora and in contact with the NA'Vi for years. That was the original goal of the program after all. So they certainly got to know them very well. At the time of that fight, one could choose one side or another. Not much other choices. I know who I'd choose

I bet they were glad to have another chance with the na'vi, to further prove all humans aren't completely scum.

Yeah - I think they managed that well enough to be allowed to stay. Oh meh, I am getting a bit of PAD now. I'd like to be one of them - participate in the action and then be allowed to stay. I am so sad that even if we do the best we can here on Earth, the reward will not be as great - not for us here now anyways. Hopefully for those who come after us...

I am the only one who actually likes Selfridge? In all reality he has a very well thought out and complete character arc. I am sad that the scene of him confronting Quartich got cut. I spent the entire movie rooting for him to turn traitor. Mr. Ribisi really turned in an outstanding performance. I really think he had the best performance out of everyone, especially in the facial expression route. You can really tell that the character is suffering and very conflicted. I personally wold like to see him back in the sequels, especially if he gets a "redemption" arc.

Hehe - well if he WOULD have chosen the right side, it would have made him much more sympathic to me
- He seemed to be troubled at time, but also quite ignorant at most other times. And I really hate him for some of his sentences like "they will move".

But see his failure to choose actually really helps to make him more three dimensional. Even though he plays a very minor role in the movie Selfridge is actually one of the best written characters. He is not flat and he has a great dimension to his character. IMO he is probably the most interesting character in the movie. We know his motives, we may not agree with them, but we also see that he is dedicated. He also actually has flaws, unlike pretty much everyone else in the movie. These flaws help to flesh him out. Again I really just want to see more of him. I do think he was a scumbag, but one who could have redeemed himself if given the proper opportunity. By the time the guilt set in there really wasn't much he could do Quaritch was off and running and there was no stopping him. My Personal Canon: Selfridge goes back to Earth and begins to work with the UN as an ambassador to Pandora, mainly out of guilt and a sense of lose. He screwed up, he knows it, now he is going to try to do what little he can to set it right.
