These are sooo good!! Irayo for them. The only problem with them I see how much is really there. It's like your body, when are you willing to settle for what you have, or spend more time and money to get it better. I didn't notice that he his hair doesn't go down all the way to his ears.
Also I didn't notice all of the feathers in his ponytail.

Wonderful picture of the headpiece too! It will help a lot when I get it made.

Thanks again!

I went to Fifi Mahony's today. I showed Brian pictures of Jake's hair. I'm going to do the non war hair. I don't want to shave my head half bald! He's going to do hair in the scenes before he goes into battle. He's also going to put a few feathers in the braids, just like the movie. He took a $50 dollar deposit. It'll probably be about $120 total and about a month.

He said that if you e-mail him a picture he can give you a price about how much it would be. Google Fifi Mahony's, contact us, put attn.: Brian and send a picture.

You can get one of those latex caps you put over your hair - it's even easier if you have short hair before.

My hair is really long, I might just use my own since a wig would be a huge pain to do properly with mine.

I'm starting to lean more toward a wig now. I think it would just be easier in the long run. I'm really concentrating on the costume part of it and a wig would be much simpler to decorate and easier than working with my own hair which tends to have a mind of its own.

Yeah, I used my own hair for the first incarnation of my costume, and I much prefer the wig.

The wig is necessary, most of all, for color Hey, if I had jet black hair, I'd slap on the braid no problem and use my hair.

I know, I'd have to dye mine if I used it and that seems like more trouble than it's worth. I'm already going to have to paint my body; I really don't want to worry about 'painting' my hair as well.

Also, I've looked into it extensively, there's no *proper* temporary black hair dye, it's semi-permanent for the least committal, which is still a few months, and the color's never quite the same after.

I suppose if you have long hair, it's cheaper to dye it instead of getting a nice wig.

Got the guy does my make to make some custom foam latex ears today. He put some saran wrap against my head with a hole cut out for my ear. Then he covered my ear completely to make the negative mold. It set up in about 10 minutes. He pulled it off and then put a solid cloth covered with a hardening material on the outside to make the mold hold it's shape. Then he poured into that a mold a solution to make the positive mold to make the ears. Then he's taking the Reelmagik ears I bought and melding them together for the final product. Very cool!

Later when he has time, and I have more money, I'm going to get a silicon custom face prosethic, like Venture Star's. I admire the knowledge and skill these guys have.

Sounds good

I really don't know whether to use a wig or not... my hair is the wrong colour, I can't dye it as my hair is annoying to deal with at the best of times and there is no way I could keep it dyed, and dying it back isn't really great either as it isn't that good for it.

Since you have so many reasons to not dye it, a wig seems like the only option then.

Hi guys

I'm quite a new member on this forum even if I had lurked around a long time before I joined. I'm dead set on getting to Seattle next year and even do my first cosplay as a native Na'vi. I have never cosplayed before but I want to do it now, since the trip to Seattle will be my first journey to North America. Might as well do it with a blast, yes?

Since it will be my first time cosplaying, I'm stepping into unknown territory regarding wigs, body paint and the rest. I've chatted a lot with the awesome misstammie for a while and have discovered the REELMAGIK site which seems to be awesome! I have already ordered the mask (female one, I think it will look much better on me) , the make-up kit and the ears. Next month, I might go for the tail.

I hope you might help me if I run into some problems...

Welcome to TOS. Your first journey to North America, and you will be coming to Seattle as a Na'vi! How awesome is that! Be prepared for an absolutely fantastic experience with all of us. Can't wait to meet you!
