^^^^ THIS EXACTLY

I wonder what Spiritualist Groups, or even CNN would have to say?

You don't see that Sight Unseen? Really?

You can't see how the stubborn and unfounded actions of a few people here outlawing free discussion for a good number of others isn't an issue here?

On a forum?

About AVATAR...
(some people need reminding this forum isn't only for anti-spirituaist scientist metalheads who want everything their way.)

You thought that discussions about spirituality caused arguments... You should see what happens when you ban them.
Hmm, where does it say free discussion is outlawed?

Nothing is censored, past simple trolling.

Feel free to make threads about it if you like - however, religion (or 'spirituality') is the source of more arguments than anything else. It doesn't have to be, but they often go that way.

However, what nobody (from either side) is getting is a 'dissent-free zone'. If you want to share an opinion, you accept that not everyone will accept it.

In an example I have used before, if, for example, there was no music subforum, and someone requested one, but made their request as only one for metal, then that wouldn't be fair on people who like others, as well as being seen as an endorsement of metal by the forum, and I could completely understand why others would want there to be a forum for all types of music. This is no different than that.

On the other hand, nobody is going to have a special subforum where there is no dissent from a particular person's views, because that would be censorship, if only specific people are allowed to use an exclusive subforum based on things they believe.

What is it with the victim mentality here?

Tell me then, what is deserving of censorship? Just a simple example will do, since I can't think of anything, so would you be so kind as to help me out here?

Eh?

Why on earth did you respond there? Way to take something out of it's original context. In order for this to make any sense, I'm going to copy that comment here.

I was talking about subject matters that people have discussions about. Insults are not discussion, they are just bad behaviour, and bad behaviour is not tolerated, that goes without saying. By censorship I mean that some topics aren't allowed for discussion, and by that definition, there isn't anything people should not be allowed to talk about.

People can discuss spirituality all they want, but they don't need to cry foul when other people disagree with their opinions.

I just didn't want to take up tons of thread pages in a debate here. Nothing regarding context was intended. If you wish to discuss this further, I request you PM me or leave me some other message.

It was a perfectly civil discussion of a relevant topic. You're making it seem much more dramatic than it is. Besides, they even took "it" to PMs (if at all).

Mika - while I agree with your point to 100%, there are some severe misunderstandings regarding your first post. There has never been any talk about censoring spiritual discussions - or any form of censorship by the staff.

However - as the discussion has moved onto - there has been talk of a new subforum. For practical reasons though, I am closing down this thread and creating a new one for this issue - I hope you understand my reasons Mika, I wouldn't want any users coming here and misunderstand the situation as a whole.

If you are unhappy with me locking the thread, just send a PM and we'll work it out - in the meantime, though, I'd be happy if the discussion continued here:
