Is the spirituality sub-forum centric to spirituality, or does it include religion as well? If so, I think it would be better aptly named as a 'Theology' sub forum.

Religion is how many people express their spirituality, so yes, it is appropriate here.
However, for many people (such as myself) religion has nothing to do with my spirituality at all, so no, I don't think theology would be more accurate. Spirituality encompasses it all. |

Forever, if the subforum works out. Being a "trial" simply means that we're watching it a little more closely for a week or so.

"trial forever" - oh my!
![]() yeah, i guess Spirituality sort of takes it all in. If, say, I would have just signed into ToS & were going thru the index I would imagine a Spirituality subforum would have attracted my attention much faster than a Theology one. Like many other people I am interested in spiritual matters - but they don't necessarily mean "religion", in fact I follow none - altho if I rrrrrreally had to choose it would be Buddhism (most probably).

I agree - Theology implies that it has something to do with a god, usually a distinct, seperated, immaterial god. Like in religion.
Theology - means the "(ac)counting of the gods". Theos - Deios - deity. For this reason, I do not like Theology, because I think many ways to look at spirituality are not connected to gods

It's a trial in as much as any other subforum - it's just better to state that outright because of its potential.
As for 'theology': Iin a word, no. Not only is that a subset of its current scope, but would prove extremely divisive.

Also - to quote Wikipedia here,
"Theology is the systematic and rational study of religion and its influences." Hardly what this subforum is for, now is it?
