Don't know about you guys, but I sort of expected Avatar to become an IMAX midnight classic. Maybe in a decade or so that'll actually pan out

Possibly after the sequels, so that they can have marathons as well? (which would probably be the best part of 9 hours long, actually...)

![]() I was thinking the same thing about Avatar in IMAX, that they would put it on whenever things were a bit slow. The SE was out or far too short last time... I'll be happy to see it once more in 3D (at last until I get a 3D monitor, but that's probably years away).

After 9 hours I would have something to physically and mentally clean me up. I'd be spent. I never understood why people would sleep outside to be the first in line to see a movie, ect. I understand now for the first time |

Marathon. Yer man. I would go for one - the only thing, I guess I won't go back... "there are many dangers on Pandora; the biggest is that you may get to love it too much"

I've understood the logic of it before, but before Avatar, never really thought about whether I'd do it or not. I kind of ended up doing it without realising I was until afterwards, perhaps after the 10th viewing.

I thought they where nuts.
I mean why on earth would anyone pay to see a movie a 2nd time in the theater? You've seen it once what possible reason would there be to see it again in the theater for that much money... When I was going the 2nd time; 3 days after the first. I realized that this was something different. And that the 2nd viewing may not be enough... 2D: 7 3D: 2 Fake IMAX: 1 Then the BluRay came out. The timestamp on my receipt from the store says 00:02. Once on an airplane. Real IMAX (SE): Twice. Back to back. At a cost of $1000. Rented a movie theater to watch the CE when it came out. Current count is at Pxevofu. I mean why on earth wouldn't anyone pay to see Avatar again in the theater? - Mikko

Darn it! Just seen this thread - doh!
![]() There's no way I can make it across to Norwich tonight - meh! Afraid I ended up loosing count of how many time I watched Avatar in the cinema when I approached 30 viewing! So I ain't got a clue now...but it's loads! Hahaha. Avatar SE was showing in the Birmingham IMAX through until March this year! Yeah, definitely have to try for the proper movie theatre in Seattle next year if we can! ![]() Alan |
