So after my first year of college I'll have like an 8 week summer. I really want to get a job/volunteer abroad. Now, I only have 8 weeks, so it can't be a super long term program, but I would like to work outside of the U.S.
Now, I was looking at jobs in Australia, and I could be a harvester and make like $20 and hour, which is good but after a plane ticket it wouldn't end up being very much. I mean that's alright it'd still be a nice experience, but the work wouldn't be all to fulfilling. Now, I was also looking at jobs in Africa, and there are lots of volunteer programs where you work with wildlife conservation or general conservation. But, you have to pay to be in these volunteer programs which I simply can't afford with college, especially cause they don't fly you over. Now, if it didn't cost to join, and they didn't fly you over, I could stomach that, but I can't afford both. However, paid work would be much better. I would pretty much go anywhere outside the U.S. (would also like Hawaii inside the U.S.) But I can't find any you don't have to pay to join, besides being a harvester for some farm in Australia. Any help much appreciated.
