We saw the preveiw for it during the super bowl. Now it's september and Terra Nova is coming.
I guess this might be the show to watch while we are waiting for 2014. Thoughts?

Good job FOX, I guess. My expectations are very high for something like this, though. Terra Nova, do not disappoint!

Its Tonight!!! Hurray!!
You had me at Dinosaurs...but I'll stay for the awesome hammyness that is Stephen Lang. Sadly I see this going one of three ways. Its really, really good and Fox cancels it. It sucks and Fox cancels it. Its so bad that its good.....Fox cancels it. Edit: After watching the first episode Terra Nova.....yeah its pretty much Avatar the series. I can see how this might turn out good but there are some VERY clumsy plot elements already going forward. The rock writing is horribly, horribly set up and the "meteorite iron" makes me want to kill something(oh hi unobtanium didn't see you there!). Also what's with the majority of the Sixers being well...not white? Overall its okay...nothing great, hopefully it will improve with age. Plot Predictions: The older daughter will be the one to "translate" the geometric writing. The Sixers are good guys/rebels. Sky's parents aren't dead and she is a sixer spy Commander Taylor will get in a fist fight with a slasher. Also my inner paleontologist is crying...slashers...REALLY!!! I like the handwave about different time flows(or is it?) it at least sort of sets things up well. I also like how they can't control the time travel. Anyway its decent enough and I will probably keep watching it. Personally I want to see more of "Earth 2149". I would like to possibly have two plot lines running in tandem. One focusing on the family, the importance of Terra Nova etc and one focusing on the future and figuring out who sent the Sixers. Last edited by Cyvaris; 09-27-2011 at 03:12 AM. |

Terra Nova isn't out here in Aus yet. This makes me sad, very sad only, because I've been hearing some VERY good things about it, and I really, really want to see it.
*blinks* There is something wrong with a group of people in a sci-fi thing NOT being mostly white? Just for a change?

When they are the "villains" yeah there is a problem. I say "villains" because its pretty obvious they aren't. Its just sort of annoying. |

Watched it Monday.....WOW!! AWESOME!! I was impressed and it was definitely like mixing Avatar and Jurassic Park together. Stephan was great and looking forward to the series.

But yeah terra nova = awesome, time travel, dinosaurs (probably won't be entirely accurate, although I'll give them some leeway in that it's possible some fossils were never discovered, or some species never fossilized), and quaritch.

I think a variety of elements are mislabeled as racism all the time. I find it kind of annoying and get tired of stepping around it.

I think they created some species just to fill in the eco-system, as, yeah, they sure as heck don't have the complete fossil record.

BUT! Apparently the "Slashers" are supposed to be Ovaraptors, which is okay I guess. Rewatching the episode I can see it. As long as they don't go to far in making up dinos I don't have a problem. |

As long as this doesn't happen I'll be happy.
