Wow! These beliefs are so much easier for people to follow and understand then some of the other Christian faiths. This belief I think is really interesting: Those who repent and believe in Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit, becoming children of God.
![]() Let me just post something that reminds me of that:

It's an idea that's a lot more attainable then the Catholic way of getting into heaven.

Chyeah I know but repentance and following God in Catholicism involves constantly going to mass and confession and the weight of sin is constantly piled on your shoulders. I think Protestants have easier ways to repent from sin and follow God.

I was raised Christian early on. Ended up going to a Catholic primary school (for US people, that's up to 5th grade), but during my time there, I became agnostic and eventually atheist.
I seem to remember telling a friend I was starting to doubt the existence of God during a PE lesson of all times

I was brought up in a house, where god was "the good guy" and that was about all I understood. We never went to church, it was only used as threat of what my brother and I would have to do on sundays if we were bad. But we only ever ended up going twice in my life. Both on Christmas eve. I don't think I could have told you Christians believed Jesus was God's son until the end of my sophmore year of high school. But yeah, nowadays, if you called me a Christian Druid, you'd probably be closest in label. I went to a Baptist school for my after Katrina year, and it almost sort of reminded me of Catholicism, in the sense that there are loads of rules and you can very easily fall out of God's favor. As a side note, when my little cousin's dog died, his teacher told him dog souls don't go to heaven
he was pissed

Like many others, I was baptized still an infant, so there was not much of a choice for my part.
I don't know about the rest of the world, but the ordinary Swedish christian is being baptized, celebrate christmas, go through confirmation (which includes going to church a couple of time) (which I have, the confirmation I mean)) and then you live on with your life as christian and get lots of presents for christmas! But it has never really bothered me until lately that I was forced into a belief which I now don't have any love for or interest in what so ever. I have in the latest year become somewhat ir/anti-religious, and by saying that I don't mean that I walk around and comment on everyone's religious belief. I'm not some Misotheist. I'm just not too fond with the whole idea of religion... yet I'm not completely sure of what I believe. Am I an Nihilst, Atheist, Apatheist or even perhaps just an Theist... I'm not sure. But so far, I have described myself as: On paper; Christian. In my mind; Atheist. And And no, I don't burn churches just because I find interest in satanism more than christianity. Black metal might just be one source for my interest.

You should change that. You're being counted as one for statistics if you haven't formally left. For the same reason, say you aren't one if you aren't.
http://www.secularism.org.uk/official-debaptism.html - primarily relevant to Britain, but should help for other countries

Myself, I share Christian beliefs (among many other beliefs) but not Christian practices... if that makes sense.
Basically, I believe all religious beliefs (as well as non-religious ones... ) to be right in their own sense, and that includes Christian ones....that probably sounded very confusing. ![]() Oh and - it's so heartwarming to see that we are actually holding a discussion centered around an organized religion, with no flaming whatsoever - keep that up, my friends.

Funny how that works, LOVEavatar is counted for a statistic he doesn't want to be counted for, and shouldn't be counted for. But I'm not on a statistic I should be counted for.
And Eltu I know what you mean. Essentially you think there are many ways up the mountain?

It's cool to see what everyone here believes!
So far it seems I'm the only one who actually practices Christian beliefs and practices
