Default My Poem About Love

I wrote this a long time ago before I was on ToS. It's sort of appropriate.

How can it be that I'm alone?
I say that I don't really know.
Yeah, when I'm feeling lonely,
I pretend I'm someone else.
Sitting in my car,
burning fossil magic,
I wish that I were somewhere else.
Weaving through my cousins and neighbors,
I'd really like some more space.
The closed system gets full.
Something had to change.
Maybe I'm better than I thought,
and I will be happy, even alone.
Yeah, when I am feeling lonely,
I pretend I'm saving the world.

I know the feeling, exactly...

In a way, we're all alone.

I didn't really mean it as a sad poem. Does it come off that way?

Sad isn't quite the right word for how I felt, more like understanding - maybe a little sad, but that's not the predominant emotion. Maybe it's because it's so true.

I used to feel lonely more often than I do now. It just helped to think of it this way I guess that maybe it doesn't matter, or maybe even that it's for the best somehow.
