I just saw a tiny bit of this short film (The film is about 30 mins) in my Australian Popular Culture class at University this morning and I just had to share it with you guys.
It stars many aboriginal people and basically flips the whole history of white interaction with Aboriginals on its head and shows what would happen if the same thing happened to the white Australians instead..It even has the arrival of the first fleet done with Aboriginals coming from the boats amongst the growing crowd of white people watching from the shore. Abosulutely brilliant stuff, a great sendup. It really makes you think about all these sterotypes that still exist and how wrong they really are. I recommend this to all, both Australians and Non Australians as it can fill you in on some of the events such as the Government advising hospitals and carers to remove childen from their Aboriginal mothers to bring them up asAnglo Saxons.
