Hah reminds me of Slegs in Turok.
Terra Nova was indeed interesting, some of the names were a bit funny such as carnotaurus but it was pretty cool to watch. It's amazing to think that Terra Nova was filmed in Queensland, Australia.

I watched it tonight. It wasn't bad, I might keep watching. I kept wanting to giggle and add "Beyond that fence every living thing that crawls, flies, or squats in the mud wants to kill you and eat your eyes for jujubes," to the big welcome speech by Lang, though. lol

Earth was really interesting, I'd like to see more of it, it really was Avatar-ish. I feel like the show is a mix of Avatar, Lost, and Land of the Lost... some of those dinosaurs I thought could've been better.

Saw it, loved it, would like more now. I really, really, really like all the characters, and that there are complexities and ambiguities introduced right off the bat. And lots of strong, interesting, DIFFERENT female characters, and lots of characters and extras not being white, and just how pragmatic Taylor is, and how he and Mira actually respect each other, and the world-building down to the design of the colony and how people's bodies have to adjust to oxygen levels and real food and lots of happy, flaily-handed GLEE from this corner of the world.

the only character I thought was a bit unbelievable was the dad. I mean I'm about as old as the oldest son, and trust me, no dad has abs like that when they are that old lol. But yeah I like it. I like it a lot.

Because magically abs disappear after you have children. Yep. Even if you have a job where being fit would be a really good idea (cop) and have spent two years in prison (where...okay, that may be unbelievable, depending on the prison. I'd also buy working out in a prison, PARTICULARLY an ex-cop, because you'd tend to be sharp and on your feet to defend yourself), but as soon as you have children, all ability to be fit is gone.

I'm just saying, from personal experience, no dads with kids around my age that I have met have ever had abs like that

I watched it and... I don't know. It doesn't seem to me as awesome as they made it out to be. They have a lot of flaws in it, even after spending millions on just one episode. I'll be sure to watch it next episode, but my expectations probably won't be as high. :/

Watched episode 2 (3? don't know if the series premier counted as 1 or 2 since it was 2 hours?) It was pretty good. I still love dinosaurs. A bit unrealistic, those pterosaurs were a lot tougher than what I'd expect. The new doctor hitting on the dad's wife is very creepy. Good character, but very creepy.

I have a feeling that the love story between the son and the girl he met will get interesting. I bet he falls in love with her, and his old GF ends up coming or something.

3 episodes in, and I'm totally into it. At first I was afraid for the seires because it might not have a plot to run on afterwards. But now that I see thay have a family they focus on, Stephon lang seemingly having dirty laundry of his own, and an entire rebel group holding the mines, the seires most defnatly has potental.

I do like the fact they introduce new dinosaurs that haven't been discovered yet. I don't care so much about being realistic as much because it's science fiction.

From the preview for next week, they are going striat for the classic infecious identity crysis.

One last thing, compair the shape of the coloney compaired to hell's gate:
Circle vs hexagon.

Okay, so I like terra nova, and it's obviously too early to criticize it, because it's understandable that this is a problem so early on, but it seems like each episode, there is a problem, that problem gets fixed, the problem is gone. Like there's the birdosaur problem, it gets fixed, it's irrelevant in the next episode. Then there's the virus problem. It gets fixed in that episode, and its over, and the scenes in the next episode don't really seem to continue the series, more just start a new episode, like each episode is its own mini-movie.

Maybe Advent could?
I saw the virus episode last night and I found it pretty cool. I distincly remember Taylor sneaking towards the Terra Nova Compound with mud of his face for camo.

That episode wasn't too bad actually, despite it being more of a 'scenario' type of thing.
