Oh well, I'm all for festivities that make people happy, even though I'm not feeling all that cheerful myself.

It's supposed to. It often makes people miserable, but that's mostly from people who dislike their relatives or people who are forced to work on Thanksgiving.

I'm lucky in the sense that I do like my relatives and I don't have to work on Thanksgiving.
