Default Dinosaur feathers found in amber

Amazing find of feathers incased in amber from the age of the dinosaurs:

Quote:
A stunning array of prehistoric feathers, including dinosaur protofeathers, has been discovered in Late Cretaceous amber from Canada.

The 78 to 79-million-year-old amber preserved the feathers in vivid detail, including some of their diverse colors. The collection, published in this week's Science, is among the first to reveal all major evolutionary stages of feather development in non-avian dinosaurs and birds.

Really stunning finds that bring us closer to a time when our world was more like Pandora.

Its quite amazing that these feathers have been untouched and unaltered since the mesozoik era, a time when giant animals made the earth shake, giant creatures roamed the seas and amazing reptiles flew in the sky.

Maybe some of the protofeathers came from creatures like this:

Amazing

I find it really interesting to think of how they were once part of an animal

I think the feathers look fantastic. It's amazing to think that they have been preserved for all this time.

Oh I'm not much of a history guy, or computers, those kinda bore me. It's strictly the majors/subjects I mentioned.

But on another note: Project Free TV :: Planet Dinosaur :: Season 1

watched all but #2 today. Kinda sad I can't watch it anymore though, cause I watched it all. Anyway, pretty good dinosaur tv show.

Most earlier finds have been in the form of petrified remains and impressions in rocks. One example is the remains of the small theropod Sinosauropteryx from China which is preserved with something that most researchers interpret as feathers or protofeathers.

Look at the scale... amazing
People always portray dinosaurs as huge, but they came in so many different adaptations.
