Given that I have no idea what the plot of Avatar 2 is going to be, there are very few specific questions I can ask about it at this point. But this is one of them.
I've had people dispute this with me, but I am assuming since we didn't see it at the end, that Norm's Avatar is dead. Max never had one. The other Avatar drivers could theoretically inhabit their Avatars permanently as Jake does. Gas masks, at least contemporary ones have an expiration date. Hell's Gate took a large amount of damage in the script, but not in the movie. Will it be intact for (at least) the two of them to reside in the sequel? |

There are ****loads other bases, not just Hell's Gate. They can get supplies from there, or (in theory), Norm and Max could've gotten on the ISV with the others back to Earth.

...The others who stayed?
![]() Not all the avatars may transfer permanenetly, not to mention other members of the science staff. Norm also has the option of his avatar if it can be treated properly, which isn't all that unlikely - linking to it when it's likely both in a lot of pain and in one of the tanks, on the other hand, is extremely unlikely

I doubt Jake would have left it so simple, if they didn't decide to stay, rather than just being allowed to if they so wanted. |

He got shot, and then abandoned for a tens of minutes. (probably longer, since it'd take time to find him and so on) Unless the Na'vi have proportionally significantly more blood than humans do, he's going to bleed out quite quickly.

Right, and I by no means think that's what happened, I was just offering an alternative.

![]() Not saying it's the most likely scenario, just pointing out out a missed possibility to extrapolate, as well as that people don't die as soon as they get shot, a misconception which has got a lot of real people killed when they assume someone they shot can't shoot back.

Well, I really don't know. I guess we'll have to see, but all I can guess right now is that they somehow aren't going to expire over a human lifetime.

That depends on whether or not they can keep the base up and running. They have a prefab/geolithography plant, which means that they can replace hardware items fairly easily, and that goes a long way.
As for Norm...I shouldn't have to point out all the debate there. My personal opinion is that since there is no evidence as to how long it was shot and how bad the wound was, we have little to go by, and its survival is really a toss-up. We also don't know how quickly Na'vi blood coagulates, how well Na'vi tissues and organ systems respond to shock, or most importantly, where major veins and arteries run in the upper body. He could get lucky and the bullet could have gone through an area without large blood vessels, or he could have even gone out to the body itself and done something to keep it from dying. We just don't have enough information.

If no organs were hit, Norms avatar would most likely have survived. Plus the base would have everything needed treat his avatar back to good health.
Look at it this way...Tsu'tey took gunfire to his torso, then fell hundreds of feet to the ground...and survived. It's entirely possible Norm's did too.

![]() I would say Norm's avatar didn't get killed though. After all, from what I saw, he was shot in the shoulder. Also, nearby Na'vi could've easily grabbed him, dragged him back to a safe area, and fixed up his avatar's wounds.

I'm sure that Max and Norm are able to find enough supplies from Hells Gate and other RDA bases for a while. I think the RDA, seeing how long it could take to mine Pandora and skirmish with the Na'vi, would of stockpiled enough supplies to last them at least 10 years or more. Plus I think that some RDA ships with troops and supplies included would eventually come back in order to try to start occupying Pandora again.
How Max and Norm could obtain some of those supplies is something else entirely.
