No problem.
Nice arrowheads by the way.
I don't think the arrows are actually attached to the bow ma tsmukan, I've just seen the Na'vi hold them with the same hand they hold the bow in. A clip might be too fiddly for them to use while hunting or fighting.

Awesome solution with the clips. I may just have to make something like that for mine.

However in the movie, the most Na'vi bows appear to have some sort a wrap (a leaf? leather? wood?) at the handle that wraps around the arrows and holds them in place even if the bow isn't being held - such as when it's worn on one's back.

I haven't found any suitable natural material to make one for my bow, as it's got some slick properties: It holds one or two (or more?) arrows, and you simply "turn" an arrow and it "unwraps" from the wrap, without dropping the other arrow.

I guess it's all easy to make work in CGI; especially when they don't show it exactly up close in the film.

Their arrows are held to the bow, it looks like using some form of wrapping around them at the front that's on the bow, see image 3.

Hmmm feels a bit like they took the easy way there with a leaf wrap that can open and close in a way tough enough to hold the arrows when they wear it on the back. I can imagine you couldnt find a suitable material for that mikko
Anyway if thats how its done ill try to figure out something like a wrap that could work.

And thanks for thinking along on this and posting those screenshots. I really like that scene, there is something feral in the movement of Neytiri in the first scenes that i dont really see much in the Navi for the most of the rest of the movie. Really want to try to capture that. its pretty hard though, did some acting for jake sofar for the first scene and well its not something i want to share on youtube haha. Oh well i only need to act out references for myself and animate the rest :p

You can take the easy way too if you're careful about the angle
Good luck This whole project seems like a real challenge.

Thx! and yeah its a massive project for me. Sometimes a bit too much.
I enjoy working on it alot tho and i just focus on the thing im working on

Oh well the bow is about done, was much harder then i thought it would be to get the bow rigged for wearing, aiming and shooting an arrow.
The bow itself is not perfect but i'm pretty happy how it turned out. My main goal is the animation now so i didnt want to go too deep in detail and textures since it wont be used in any close-ups.

and a close up after one of the reference images earlier

WOW!!

I'm really impressed. Nice work as usual Fierox. You put a lot of work into the bow and the poses. Even the arrow holder.

You probably don't need this now, but just in case it helps at all:

Thx all, especially for helping with the reference stuff.
I was asked to do a wireframe render, thought i might do it in color aswell.
Atm im fixing details like how much the hair moves around on movement.
For example the feathers on Neytiri's necklage are still floating a bit too much when she's moving as you can see

color

wireframe (only polygons are wired)
