I'm not sure if it's worth my energy to write this, but in case you aren't trolling, I can provide a few explanations.
As HNM had pointed out, unobtainium, a room temperature superconductor, is a resource meant to fuel certain sectors of the economy in 2154 Earth, and is not essential for the survival of the human race. A few plot points to address. The RDA is bound by international conventions that prohibit the use of WMDs. They don't possess a legitimate military, only a Security Operations division. Think of them as Xe (formerly Blackwater) but much smaller in scale. As such, they did not have access to theater or even tactical bombers. Their defense fleet consists only of VTOL rotorwings. While the technology seen in Avatar may not appear as advanced by 2154 standards, the canon explanation is that Pandora's magnetic flux vortex proved to be very problematic for high tech weaponry. In fact, the initial advanced weapons they brought were unreliable at best, and were often useless. Thus, they had to settle for conventional-looking rotorwings, which possesses less advanced technology that's less susceptible to the EM field. Because they don't possess any dedicated bomber aircraft, and they wanted to make a quick attack on the Tree of Souls, they settled on jury-rigging a Valkyrie shuttle and dropping crates of mining explosives from the back ramp. Think of it as a cruder analogy to dropping BLU-82 Daisy Cutters from a C-130 aircraft. They relied on sheer explosive power of precision, and even then, they needed to fly fairly low to avoid the explosives hitting obstacles. Speaking of flying at a higher altitude, here are some very very basic aerodynamics. The higher you are, the thinner the air, and the less lift you generate at a given airspeed. If you move too slowly and can't generate enough lift, you will stall and drop like a rock. We don't even know if the engines will have enough thrust at high altitude. You think an F-35B or a Harrier can hover at high altitude? They won't. Turbine engines generate less thrust in thinner air of high altitude and won't be able to support the weight of the aircraft. Assuming that its vectored-thrust engines can even generate enough thrust at high altitude to defeat the weight of the shuttle, it will be very slow, as it can only deflect a certain proportion of that thrust forward. They can't afford to fly faster, because that will be highly detrimental to their bombing accuracy. This doesn't even take into account the numerous obstacles that can potentially block the path of the explosives. All these are problems trying to use an aircraft for an ill-suited role. I can go on and on, but I think this is long enough for you to chew through for now.

I suppose.
I'd like his head mounted here for a bit longer though. It's a nice decorative touch.

Trolling or not (and nothing like assuming the worst in a person as the default by the way, brothers); this thread does raise some interesting discussion.

I think it's probably easier to pick a side when instead of Race A vs. Race B you see see it as Good vs. Bad.

Sure. We didn't pick the na'vi over the humans because they're more beautiful (though they are, as many of us would say).

Wow dude, that would be real trolling
If anybody ever comes in here and talks about how ugly the na'vi are, I'll have no doubts. I was really saying that more in response to Devourment's post though.
