Default Super cool gadget - touchscreen digital music stands

Hi everyone.

Sorry I haven't been around a lot lately. But I'm working on something and thought you guys would find it cool:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...acking-4-muzik

^I'm actually directly involved with this. We're making a portable, 20" touchscreen music stand that completely eliminates the need for paper sheet music and all its problems. It allows hands-free page turning, annotation sharing, and online storage of your sheet music library (so you'll never lose a page again).

We want to launch the first one in March 2012 because of an upcoming national TV appearance. All the manufacturing is coming together, and the last big hurdle is finishing software on time. To help meet the goal, we're holding a hacking competition in NYC to attract developers, designers, and techy musicians. We have until next Tuesday January 17 to raise the event budget at that Kickstarter page (13% of the way there).

Right now, I'm really trying to raise our visibility... literally every time someone backs us, at any amount, we move visibly closer to the top of the "popular this week" page. If we make it to the top, we'll become a featured technology project and all kinds of people will see us!

There are also some really cool rewards for higher backers, such as pre-orders of the actual device. Nothing even gets charged unless we succeed. But again, it's the number of backers that raises our visibility, so any amount from lots of people would be amazing.

If anybody has questions, I'm totally here and ready to answer them. :-)

Five seconds too late
This is a different kind of Jake/Neytiri romance, the story that would've unfolded had she been delayed for just five seconds while trying to reach him following the fight with Quaritch.

Your first link is broken. Cool device, I am actually surprised something like this doesn't exist already. Best of luck, though it isn't looking good with that 13%.

Ah thanks! Link fixed.

well, the first 13% came mostly from friends, family, and other direct personal contacts. We're just now seeing backers trickle in that we don't know, who probably found us from a reshare by a primary backer. we got a whole lot of those since I started the big push friday, and it takes a few days for those seeds to germinate I think.

we also have a few leads for possible business sponsors who could put in four-figure pledges at a time. And I'm working to see if we can get a big blog to cover us in the larger context of crowdfunding and hackathons.

and apparently, we *might* have some nuclear option last resort we could call upon last day if the thing would fail otherwise, though I don't know what it is.

So don't let the 13% discourage you! there's hope, and anyway, there's no risk for the backers. Nothing gets charged unless we make it.
