Neytiri 3D WIP

Hey again and thx for keeping interest!

Its been a while since i've uploaded anything, i have been very, very busy animating Neytiri and Jake. Done for today, below is a rendered frame of the animation im working on to give you an idea.
Its going to be quite some time still before all the animation is done but its great to slowly see them come to live (sort off). I think i have well over a minute of animation now (a little rough still no facial animation etc but alot of detail).
Its very hard and slow work but its going better then expected and its turning into an addiction (have to animate a little each day!) so progress is good.



I though i could start animating without sound but the interaction between Ney and Jake is so delicate in timeing i quickly needed to have something atleast. Took sentences from the movie and messed with them to get the sentences i need or as close to those as possible. Came out better then i had hoped but far from good, anyone have a tip on sound i'd love to hear it!

Neytiri and Jake just look really natural in that last one. If you imagine Jake and Neytiri's life on Pandora after the Avatar ending and they live a peaceful life with the Omaticaya and you just happen to be there with a camera and take a picture of the couple just standing by some lake, this is how I most certainly would picture them. It must be the look in Neytiri's eyes. I can honestly feel a bit of connection between the two just by looking on the picture. I applaud you for evoking feelings to me as a simple viewer!

Sound but voices especially is a bit of a problem yeah
Ill try to work with quotes/sounds from the movie for now. If the quality isnt good enough when im done animating ill have to go look for someone else to lend his/her voice. Hopefully showing my animated work then will convince someone with a voice close to that of Jake and Neytiri. Perhaps visit an actors school and add some flyers there or something i dont know yet

This is a lot of work to put into a personal project

After doing an earlier render of Neytiri from all sides (was requested on deviantart) i really found she was lacking some definition of her skin and muscles.
Wanted to add just a little bit more, great excuse to try some normal mapping!
This render is done with a quick low quality test map, not quite there yet now to bake a proper one!
A little sidetrack of my animation but to keep polycount a bit reasonable i want to use it on some backgrounds aswell.



Second render, different angle.
There's a little more detail in her body now, might try a tiny bit more.
