Started with the Na'vi bust base some days ago, it's about 10cm high.
I know it's just the base yet, but I wanna show you the progress of making it, so I already posted the pic here ^^



Next step is adding modelling clay and modelling it But I don't know yet how I should make the hair. Should it be made out of clay, too, or should I use some more realistic hair, like from a wig? Hm... And I need to buy glow-in-the-dark-paint...

Looking forward to the finished product Real hair i think would look nice, but what would i knowe. I have no experience with clay,apart from the clay i playd with in kindergarten And thats a long time ago

I don't know, I would only use hair if you're making it ultra realistic looking. Glow paint is all over the internet, so you shouldn't have a problem there

Thx for feedback I guess a ultra realistic look just won't be possible, because I only have air-drying modelling clay and no polymer clay... So I guess I'll "have to" do the hair out of clay, too. Well, we'll see.

In the meantime...



I wasn't satisfied with the way it looked anymore, so I spontaneously decided to retouch it a bit so it might look like it was originally intended to do... a bit more, at least. Quite some difference, though, in my opinion What do you think?

Pic #1 is the old one just for comparison, #2 is the new version without "extras" and #3 is the new version with "extras".

She is beautiful!!! She is better looking than the first one her eyes are more na'vi like now But if i may point out something, i think she is a bit wide over the hip's. The na'vi has wery slender body's. But that is just my opinon

Irayo nìtxan I agree, but not all Na'vi look alike or have the same "hip-width". When you look at the movie you'll notice this here and there.

This screencap for example:

Her (the female Na'vi on the right) has wider hips and especially thighs than Neytiri e.g., also you can see anatomical differences between the male Na'vi - they all look a bit different, e.g. Eytukan and Tsu'tey have a very "narrow" torso.

Also, this is just a retouched picture of a fanart I did shortly after I watched "Avatar" for the first time, so I haven't had so much "feeling" for Na'vi anatomy. ^^ But yeah, her hips could be a bit more slender ^^ So thanks a lot for your feedback

I see I hadn't noticed that before... But i think it's amazing how much work ther is in that movie to make every character have it's own personality and look's!!!

Thanks so much guys But still I'm not satisfied with it. Bad looking base is still a bad looking base. But well, this won't be the last picture I did of a Na'vi, so... ^^
