It's an extremely rare blood disorder that makes skin appear blue. Skin with blue pigments in it would be "blue skin".

I'd venture to guess he was more of a pale blue than na'vi blue, but any shade of blue on skin would look shocking.

We saw a Television news special back in the late nineties or around 2000, that showed a guy that went WAAAAY overboard on the Colloidal Silver thing, and actually turned blue, even his tongue!! But it was a really WEIRD looking blue.

One of the women in the family was dark blue almost purple.
Some of the people born with this anormality die of oxygen deprivation to their major organs. The dark blue woman lived into her eighties without any side effects. I wouldn't want to comprmise my health by having deficient blood that couldn't deliver oxygen where it is needed, nor would I drink collodial silver. I would paint myself blue once in a while though! |

Colloidal silver isn't even particularly blue either, more of a greyish, and can also have some negative health effects - I'll also stick with paint and tattoos, unless a new method becomes available in the future
