"Oh the weather outside is frightful" and hense I got stuck in the house, watching TV (something I don't do much of anymore, since seeing Avatar).
So the show that caught my eye is called "Prophets of Science Fiction" hosted by none other than Ridley Scott, on American - Discovery Channel. In particular the episode that was on tonight was about Phillip K. Dick, whom is recognized as one of most accurately 'predictive' science fiction writers of the future, as that almost all that he's written about has come to happen, or is already in the process, in particular techological advances, everything from Androids, Robotics, Virtual Reality, etc. (the list is huge). So every time you pick up your 'video game' you are playing on a 'reality' that Dick predicted long before. ‘Prophets Of Science Fiction: Philip K. Dick’ – Recap Philip K. Dick - Science Fiction Author - Official Site He is also reconized as the science fiction writer, whom has had the most novels inspiring or turned into movies and not just movies, but a lot of block busters. Philip K. Dick - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Some of the most Notable: Blade Runner, Minority Report, A Scanner Darkly, Total Recall, Paycheck, Screamers, Adjustment Bureau, The Truman Show. Interesting he was possible a parnoid schizophreniac, but that seems to be what gave him his visions, that has dramatically predicted or influenced our present world as we know it!

Ahh Philip K. Dick, great author, shame all the movie adaptions of his books save for the Director's Cut of Blade Runner really, really, really, suck.
He and William Gibson are my literary heroes. |

Our culture got lost in the wrong story, a story of death and defeat, of opression and control, of separation and competition. We need a new story!" |

It was intresting that I learned that Dick was a little crazy but that was the trend of the counter culture; crazy people think and see more things than the close minded. I enjoyed H. G. Wells' and Issac's as well. I'm working on the rest.
