I'm so glad that things turned the way they should be. About me, I think that I'll stay here: as SaphirJD said, "this just feels like home". After Lon (or whoever else) lifts the ban off my account, I'll start paying some visits to AF as well because I really loved the community there and I don't want to part from it if I have the possibility to stay in touch.

Hello,

I'm excited for Tree of Souls in that it tries to recapture the spirit of Avatar-forums' early days when a tight-knit, friendly community formed around a movie we all cherish. I have lamented for a while the direction Avatar-forums took after the administration changeover. The friendly-feel of the forum vanished. The hostility didn't extend to new users or trolls, but also came down from the top. One particular moderator took it upon himself to also act as the morality police. Because of that disgusting behaviour, I no longer contribute on Avatar-forums.

All the moderators of avatar-forums have been so friendly and accommodating. It was a great place for a time, but it only takes one bad moderator to spoil the forum experience. People leave forums all the time for all sorts of reasons but never did I think I would leave because of one bad moderator, but it is what it is. I felt leaving was better than reporting it to the admin, since the new administration seemed more interested in turning the forum over into a commercial, for-profit venture than redressing my grievance. So I left. I believe a great forum is one run by the fans for the fans, so I am so happy to be part of this community!

ps. I also love keeping the old theme for ToS. It's perfect! Avatar-forums' new design is so garish and cluttered it's like RDA plowed it over leaving a mess.

One life ends. Another begins.

Eltu stands behind that ? Eltu is from Sweden ? Great news !

Everyone from Sweden I ever met in my life was a open hearted, very friendly and companionable person. So I think this is a good omen for the future of ToS.

QFT! And I love how you ended your post there -- it fits perfectly!

I love how this forum looks and feels! It's like A-F before it was destroyed. I feel like I've come home again.

P.S. Is there any way to donate to ToS to help cover bandwidth and server costs??? I was looking around but couldn't find anything on it yet.

That will be coming soon. We have no interest in making a cent of profit on this site, but server costs will become quite significant as we grow. At the moment, it is not an issue, but it soon will be. Thanks for the interest, something on this will appear in the not too distant future

BTW, nice avatar pic

This is so awesome, I am very glad I found my home again. I only discovered this site like 10 minutes ago and I already feel the old feeling I had and lost at AF. This is a great thing and bringing back the old community needed to be done, I really felt it falling apart which was quite upsetting considering what a big part of my life it had become. AF just feels...empty and "soulless" now. I have to say again I am so happy that the friendly close community of AF has been reborn. I have to give a big thank you to all who took it upon yourselves to rebuild what we had all lost. "There's some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for"

Very well said spicy apple. I almost stared to cry, a few minutes ago when I saw this forum. It's like coming home, like the first days of the new year, when this community saved my life.
Chapeau, Eltu !!!

Eon was one of the voices of reason in that discussion. I would like to thank her for that as well
