I'm quite ok with seeing Tali's face. It was beyond my expectations, but really, I didn't care what her face looked like. I get this feeling some people liked her because she has the aura of a teddy bear around her. I liked her because she was so mysterious, omgz smart, interesting physiology, and so much more. In a nutshell, curiosity.

She actually looks like Zoe come to think of it. She's just as beautiful without the mask than with one.
This is her. Spoiler alert.

Does she look like I imagined? Really, no. Is it absolutely terrible on the same magnitude as the DLC ripoff or the crap ending? I don't think so, even if it isn't amazing. I'm far more annoyed about the DLC and the stupidly awful ending.
Edit: The fact that it's a free stock photo does make it worse... Couldn't they even create any art for it, or were they too busy cutting out finished game assets to charge for?

I'll probably buy it.
There's no way I would. Encouraging companies to release something unfinished and charging for what should have been there in the first place is a bad idea. As was pointed out on IRC, Skyrim's latest patch is adding new features, for free. If they end up charging for something, it'll be a full expansion and not just a couple of extra weapons that took all of a day to make, or a character that was included in the normal install but just commented out in a config file so they could extort $10 from players for it. It's sad really, BioWare used to have my respect (even if it did take them ages to release ME1 for a decent platform), as they made two great games, but EA have ruined them.

Goddam Tali falls down the uncanny Valley....seriously that is just creepy. She is just human enough to be sort of attractive, then you look at the hands. I really wish she was more alien.

Hmm, I think the whole 'uncanny valley' idea is crap, probably perpetuated by advocates of old-style animation - sure, she isn't amazing, but doesn't look fake per se - just like a photoshopped human, which is what it is. Yes, that makes the image look weird, but not seem fake. That said, the hand is the worst part of it, since they didn't even fully delete the extra fingers, leaving a weird bit on the side, when it wouldn't have taken much more effort to move them over to be properly centred - although really, it would have been easier and given better results to create some art for it.

Spoiler: Massive spoilers

Don't get me wrong, I don't care about how she looks. I care that it's a stock photo, poorly photoshopped and rushed out into the game. Bioware clearly knows this is important to Tali fans, as they've been building the tension for THREE. GAMES. Then they do this? THIS?

Just...wow.

You guys make a point about the photo, but I try not to look any further than the game universe because thinking about the producers, developers, and EA will just create a degree of politics and will ruin the integrity of the game world.

With HnM, that video, that is kind of.. ridiculous. I agree it should be a patch, and not a DLC. If Bioware wants any of their large amount of fans to flock back to the franchise, they will do this for free all the while apologizing for the poorly written segment. Bioware has made the Mass Effects (superb games), The Old Republic (a fine game, its in its infancy as an MMO but I cant seem to find a bad thing about it), KOTOR, and a few others. All of them top notch. This is their second blemish of a game, and I'm confident they'll see it from our point of view. (Dragon Ages - The Reckoning was absolutely terrible).

I have one question for any of you

As of right now, if there was a Mass Effect 4 whether it be a prequel or a sequel without anyone we have run into before (other than possibly Captain Anderson.... or the Protheans depending how far back the prequel is), would you buy it?

Bioware has its own edge. They have never failed me thus far.

I would (once the price gets knocked down to 50↓)

No.

Not that there really could be >.>, but even so, this whole DLC mess, Origin malware, and bioware's general lack of caring have put me off ever buying another game of theirs, placing them (and EA) on a list with Sony and Ubisoft.

Casey Hudson and BW seem intent on creating Corporate Suicide by making statements that answer nothing, say nothing, and give an insulting and "Wow, the nerds wanted more stuff on their ending?" Vibe to everything.

SO

Indoctrination theory? Yes? No?

Also apparently Gibbed datamined the game and found fragments of code that point to "a child possibly human, possibly asari, possible hybrid" standing with an older adult figure staring at the stars and asking about "grandfather/some distant relative". Also this has a "10,000 years later" label on it. So uhm....more weirdness?

@Txon:After writing this and staring at you signature for awhile....personally I ship Norm/Tsu'tey....what?

No idea whether it's true or not. We'll see on April 7th, but until then, I'll keep talking about the new endings and such. Very excited, and I will be very happy if we get what we paid for.

Norm/Tsu'tey? WAT? Did they even meet? >_> But still, maybe in A/U.

Yes, although if bioware want us to pay for the privilege of seeing that as canon, they will have completely lost the remaining vestiges of their integrity.

...why?
Honestly, I find shipping as a concept in general stupid (especially when people get annoyed when it doesn't happen for real), and related to mary sue-ism and self insert fanfics.
