As for ME3. I will continue to buy ME universe stuffz.

Unless they do something AMAZING with DLC to fix that ending, it never happened. I refuse to accept it.

I live in denial about many things.

Honestly, I find shipping as a concept in general stupid (especially when people get annoyed when it doesn't happen for real), and related to mary sue-ism and self insert fanfics.
There ARE some instances of shipping where you just want to yell "GET A ROOM YOU TWO" to two characters.

Take applejack X Rainbow Dash from MLP for instance. (we should start another thread for this train of thought)

Keeping with the subject of ME3, according to a few paragraphs written by an anonymous Bioware writer, that Casey Hudson and the Lead writer wrote the ending without any input or peer review from the other writers.

Figures.

I'm surprised though; I always had a relatively positive impression of him before now.

No wonder he's taking all this rage so personally.

Mr. Hudson,
YOUR WRITING IS BAD, AND YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD!

I finally got ME3's ending.

At least I have an ending in mind.

That fits what we were given.

To a degree. Anyways.

First thing. The reapers never say that they're here to destroy anybody. "We are your salvation." They're harvesting, their minions are collectors. Seeing a pattern here? They're in no way evil.

So, first galactic civilization ever evolves, builds machines, and fights a terrible war to end all wars. One side wins. Maybe the organics win and decide to never allow machines to take over again, maybe the machines win and realize that organic life is necessary, maybe they draw and agree that future generations need to be spared. Either way, the winning side creates the first reapers. The reapers are tasked to wait for civilization to develope to a tipping point, where synthetic life is just being created, and experimentation is begging for true hybridization of synthetic and organic life.

THATS their target. Thats what the reapers wait for. That magical prototype. The crucible is a massive matter reconstruction machine, it can take one object, and rewrite other similar objects through the Mass Relays through the magic of scifi blah blah mass effect magnets.

So the reapers keep coming back and wiping the galaxy clean and letting it develop to this cusp, hoping that someday one civilization will successfully create this perfect being. HOWEVER, the reapers are not evil. They recognize that simply because a race did not create the perfect being, doesn't mean they don't have a right to exist, so they harvest them. Their minds and culture are created into new reapers.

Every reaper is a massive library, (or as sovereign put it, a nation). Every. Time. A reaper dies. An entire civilization was wiped from existence. Way to be a dick on the destroy button Shepard.

So that leaves us with this.

SHEPARD, is the perfect hybridization of organic and synthetic that the galaxy has been waiting untold millennia for.

The REAPERS are the guardians of all life in the galaxy, when war with synthetics becomes a possibility, they strike, harvesting all sentient life in the galaxy (quite possibly both synthetic and organic) and build a reaper to house the collective memories/culture of said species.

The CRUCIBLE is the endgame. A device to rewrite ALL life (both synth and organic) in the image of this perfect hybrid (shepard)

DESTROY -- Literally hitler. You blow up ever reaper. Every single culture the galaxy has ever known is now gone. Shepard is crowned eternal king of the ********s.

CONTROL -- Not really evil per say, but still, the idea was that everybody gets to exist happily. Now just the current crop gets to exist as is, the machine war will probably happen again and everybody loses in the end.

SYNTHESIS -- Happy ending. Yeah, shepard dies, but every race ever harvested gets to live. Thousands of cultures are finally free to live in a galaxy finally free of organic/synthetic wars.

Any questions?
