Some people would know about Avatar Fan Film Project: Our Only Home video that was made in an amazing cooperation between Avatar fans from 9 countries, the result of which was this video - that even got to be shown in IMAX:
OOH shown in IMAX Since then, it grew little legs & went globetrotting - and with time Czech, Finnish, German, Portuguese, Spanish & Italian subtitles were added. Now... Russians are coming! OMG Yes, we thought that 'one more could always fit in', so why in the world not to add Russian subtitles? Here: I also got inspired by Podomatic releases of OOH : 28 downloads in Kazakhstan go figure. So I guess the video already took on its own life, & let's see where it goes & what happens... I guess I am a bit stuck for words but I am simply glad to See what we can do together - inspired by Avatar

heh the pleasure's been all mine
![]() Let's just see what happens. Personally, I doubt that there will be a lot of views of this particular version... but then again, see my signature? 'What the bleep do we know' anyway! let's just wait & see... I've sent the link to my parents anyway: they are not Avatar fans (in fact, I don't think they saw it at all! ) but they revised the subtitles so many times that I am sure they would like to have a look at the final result

Haha, another thread about the translation of Our Only Home. It's really very impressive to have this translated into seven languages. I find it odd that French wasn't done though (not that I'm exactly a fan
).

That's a good point Moco. The translations basically reflect the countries from where those who worked on it came from. Apart from the last three translations (Italian, Spannish and Russian) which have been done by people who wanted to translate post completion. (Apache did the later two - Irayo ma tswal tsmuke). If anyone wants to translate into French they are more than welcome to get in touch.
Hope that helps clarify ma tsmuke ![]() Alan |

wow I've just seen on YouTube:
Our Only Home (original?) 1268 views Spanish 115 (last time I saw it, there were 87!) Italian 21 Subtitles (English?) 89 Roll on French! We dont' have any French coming to Seattle, do we? Ah & my father said that the video looked very professional & expressed his sincere appreciation to 'Alan and the team' Knowing his vice for nit-picking, erm... perfectionism is a more polite word, that's quite a praise!

That's really nice of your fathers to say. Sounds like high praise indeed. I would be grateful if you could pass on my irayo/thanks for his kind words and also helping with the translation. It is much appreciated. ![]() Irayo Apache ![]() Alan |
