Ofcourse he also want to entertain, but a message that encourages activity and engament in our world do not contradict good entertainment. In that way Avatar actually is better than many other Hollywood products.

People can do what they like, but still one can at least discuss different aspects of Avatar, or what Avatar in the best case really can be, its potential to actually make us want to change the world to something better. If people want to use it just for escapism that is of course their choice but I think Cameron had some greater ambitions for the film.

I Beleave in creating Avatar Cameron wanted to do his duty as Global Stewerd and bring
peoples Awareness to issues "inside hummanity" seen from a new perspective , Our inner understanding instead of our "intellect" Cammeron took some of the most Sacred worldly Visions of issues involving global humanity understood by native peoples and there understanding of there place in the world , and found a respectful way to present them to our people in a way most of us simply "understand from the heart", I dont think even Cameron fully understood how strongly some our people would "connect" with this , But how he presented it is in my opinion one of the most creative examples of the power of filmmaking I have seen in my life, Avatar Realy has made a diffrence huge in the way we see the world and and In some places like Equador a huge diffrence in "real" peoples lives

I have also noticed a behind the sceans "effort" in the Political media, a kind of smear campagin
targeting Cameron and Avatar Its not hard to see if one looks for its origanating source
the people behind the scenes doing this. The film has its flaws but as a whole realy

There is no one 'extinction event' per se; the Cretaceous/Palogene (Tertiary) boundary is the commonly cited one, but was a period of time, not a single impact (although there were several large ones, they aren't a sole cause in and of themselves and many people question their impact at all - they get overstated thanks to films like Deep Impact and Armageddon (the latter beving the second worst science of ANY film as assessed by NASA)). In any case, it didn't happen because objects were attracted to Earth, it happens because similarly sized impacts do recur, on long timescales. Not even humans can control objects in space.

Gaia was an analogy. Not even James Lovelock (the author of the books) thinks Earth is actually sentient (and has subsequently admitted he was wrong in several of his predictions). In looking at the core roots of Avatar and its very powerful mirror story
one can see it for some it points to a very deep part of our primal core understanding, this in our people has been profoundly damaged in such a way that as a whole our people fail to see the underlying roots that are the cause of what on could call "Our Broken Bonds" a lot of people look on Avatar as an enviromental awareness film "but" no film has ever dug down through so many levels of deep into our core understanding that forms the foundation of our true core Sense of place in our world , and Core accountabilty a part of every humans fundamental core understanding its universal no mater what culture or place on e comes from I beleave that Cameron created the film to of course emntertain but whah the film touches on while doing so that is my intrest And I mean this in a good way.

It made people think with their mind and feel the situation deep inside. It's a reflection of what is happening here. People had to take action and they still do, Avatar was the trigger. The message is a concern, a wake up call. For what ? We all know for what.

How do you define a "fundamental core understanding"? Because all there really is, at the very instinctual core of every being, are simple urges: Eat, mate, and survive. That's all. Anything else is a layer on top of that. Certainly, the majority of the higher processes are similar in different people, but there's no common way of thinking; people are not the same in personality, experience, memory or way of approaching things. To me, that's what makes humanity valuable, that everyone has something different to contribute.

Amen to that. To me the message of Avatar lies in showing us a part of understanding that we miss; The mentality of maintaining a society that functions.
