I had a chance, but when I saw them I cloudn't. I take them in hand, but I hadn't courage. Maybe next time (I've seen Avatar, so teylu can be an image
)

The Zophobas morio I cooked at the meetup were tasty.
I made cinnamon-sugar, chocolate covered, and "french fry" style worms. Everyone else seemed to like them too; I wanted to bring them to Seattle as well, but someone left them out in the sun on the camping trip and they spoiled. -.-'

Nice!
Great photo of you cooking up the teylu, Raiden. ![]() And Irayo for letting us all sample them at the campsite. I gathered up my courage and tried a cinnamon-sugar teylu, and yeah, it tasted good. I just had to get past that it looks like what it is, and then forget that and just pop one in my mouth, chew and swallow. Of course it helped that it was all covered in cinnamon-sugary sweetness.

Fricken Iron Chef right there.
Once again, you look like the kind of guy I wouldn't mess with at the bar.

Reading all this is making me long to go back home
Here in Pensacola, we have a vietnam oriental market, that I will have to look at sometime. I've never actually had a chance to go in there, but since it mainly caters to the vietnamese community here, there might be some larvae there.I'll see what's in there, and report back when I have the time. |
