Would You If You Could?

I think this is something that could bring around some discussion, though this is something where the answer is your own opinion =^-^= so...

If you could go back to the time when you first saw Avatar (or even a little back if it was a progression to the first viewing, for example I'd go back a week before I first saw it) and live the whole thing again would you?

If so would you want to change anything? Or leave it the way it all happened? If you would want to change something, what would it be?

Or would you not want to go back then and not live it all again?

Me personally (started a new post so it wouldn't fill up original question post) I would go back a week when i first first heard about Avatar, and only saw the poster for it, looked up a picture of Neytiri (whom I did not know at the time because I promised myself I wouldn't research anything on the movie so the whole experience would be a surprise, because I felt in my heart this movie would be special). How her face filled my dreams, my whole thought process, I was so curious about the movie I sometimes wouldn't sleep because I dreamed different scenarios that would play out with her, or my imaginary far away lands... I even failed my last test for the class I was taking at my automotive school because I couldn't concentrate because I was seeing the movie that night.

All in all I would give anything to go back to that first moment I saw the poster for Avatar, and I would live everything over again, and I wouldn't change a thing... All the heartaches, sleepless nights, the tears shed... I'd live it all again without a second thought. It lead me to have one of the greatest experiences of my life

I most definitely would. As it happens I have just 5 minutes ago finished watching Avatar, now here I am on this forum again thinking about all it has done for me. I would not change ANYTHING about my first viewing, the things I felt.

My soul was garbage back then, if I met a person today like the guy I was back then, I'd want to slap him I'm sure I speak for many here when I say Avatar was the wake up I needed, I could not have asked any more from it. The story and characters and most importantly the messages behind it. Without doubt the most positive thing that has happened in my life

I would not go back in time to the first time I watched Avatar, because back then I didn't know anything about the language and all the background details on the Na'vi I read on Pandorapedia and so on... plus I would have to draw all my Avatar fanart (again), including my comic, which was quite some work to do. ^^

I would not change a thing. It validated, from a corner of humanity that I thought would always "POO-POO" the ways that many indigenous peoples from all over this planet believe as either "out of touch with reality" or perhaps "Soft core Satanic". When I saw the movie, I thought that "SOME of these people are FINALLY GETTING IT", and it made me happy that SOME people COULD "Be taught to SEE". NOW, hopefully, THEY will teach others, before it is far too late.

I really like this thread, great Idea for putting it forward Stanley.

I personally would love to have a deja-vu and relive the exhileration and wonder in the week prior to watching Avatar and watching the trailers over and over, just to feel the crazy rush and eye opening wonder of it all. The only thing I would change would be to try to go in there and watch the movie without looking up wikipedia and experiance everything fresh.

I agree with Niri Te, honestly I had no hope or faith for humanity before the movie, then after seeing the movie, then hearing about everyone's experiences with it, i had hope =^_^=

This is a particularly thorny question for me. If only to experience the first-time feels, I most definitely would. PAD and all. My first and second times seeing Avatar were simply amazing, I'd love to experience that again so I could really remember it. At the time I didn't really know how much it would impact me. However, if I would have to relive the years since then, maybe not. I'm not saying I'm positive I wouldn't, but some of the other stuff that's happened in my life since then has made me glad that it's in the past. Reliving two and a half years of living with my parents, high school, going to work, and in general hating everything about my life would not be fun.

I totally understand you there... along with some of the most eye opening greatest times of my life were equally some of the hardest and most painful... but I'd live through it again to see Avatar for the first time and experience everything I did again <3

I would definitely go back to the 1st time again BUT with a few minor changes (maybe major). When I first experienced Avatar, it was the dvd version on a small 32" old-tech flattie tv that weighed almost 100 lbs! I felt what everyone else felt but didn't experience Avatar like it should've been until it came out in theaters the 2nd time around. I eventually ended up getting a 50" plasma 3D tv just for this movie. So basically I'd hold off watching it till I had the proper equipment to experience it. But then going back to that time would be when I had no interest in big tv's, 3D, etc and knew nothing about em. Avatar changed my life and everything around it.

It's a movie and I watched, I don't think anything would need to be changed to make the experience different.

To be honest... I don't think I would go back. Such a wealth of knowledge I gained after seeing the movie. Iron_Jones pretty much answered it for me too.

But you would still pretty much gain it after watching it again for the 1st time......
