Apparently, James Cameron's movie inspired others to get him involved with trying to halt the construction of a massive dam that environmentalists say would damage the Amazon.

He looks so out of place in this picture, but it's great that he is out there doing something.

I've never had the feeling that James Cameron was putting on an act. He's serious about all of this.

Well, at very least this will shush the critics who say that all these wealthy celebrities only talk the talk.

That is amazing

I agree with zongtseng... He knew what he was doing... He gave the world this message. But then again, if you've ever seen The Abyss, there's certainly a message there. In a different way, but it's there.

The Abyss is a great movie. In many ways, it is the precursor to Avatar, when James Cameron was getting his feet wet, so to speak

I just posted this info on Avatar Forums! Then I came here to post it and saw this thread. I thought the picture was so cute! The article was great, and I just KNOW the Avatar sequel is going to be mind-blowing after all that!

This sounds like something similar to what the Chinese government has done with the 3 Gorges dam. They flooded many communities as well as significant historical sites. It sounds like the same thing could happen here. Hopefully some kind of solution could be made here.
