Default Can you bare the thought of leaving?

I have realised, it cannot go on forever, we will all go our seperate ways and that is a bitter pill to swallow for me. I have become dependent here, and at the moment, would burst into tears by leaving, it's like saying good bye, permenantly to people you love, and the cruelty is that, at some point, the users here will never be seen again, and all that invested love would hurt. It has on several occasions, made me think, the cruelty of that day, or will the need to be here gradually leave. I cannot conclude, all is that I love you dearly, and that is said most often here, but it is true. I always presumed, hoped infact, whether it is dreaming or being practical, that one day, out of circumstance or fate, we will all see eachother, and recall the times we have shared and become friends in real life to.

Until then, there must be no regrets, no tears no anxieties, go forward in all your beliefs and prove to me that I am not mistaken in mind.

This is true and sad, very sad only.

Hopefully we can keep this going for as long as humanly possible. I know one thing though, I will always be coming here. I hope most of everyone else continues coming here for a long time to come.

But if/when that day fateful day does come, it will be extremely sad because of all the fun we shared and all our discussions here. Whatever happens, I will carry this memory forever and will always love you guys.

I actually have to disagree with you here Colonel.

We only have to endure that day if we choose too. We may run out of things Avatar related to talk about, we may even get to busy with life to post as frequently. However, when I find something like the group of people I have here I hold onto it. We can find each other on facebook, through phone, email, etc. The only way to remove yourself from this wonderful group we have would be to shut off all connection, and that will not happen.

Gunny, I completely understand, but there are those users out there who have contributed, and been loved, then disappeared without knowing the complications of that.

Who says we have to? Even if some people become less active, they'll always come back here... where we all are. Friends... a family. Something more than just another site.

ToS will ALWAYS be here, even if I have to run it all myself and take another job to pay the server bills, even if I have to give up other things in life I enjoy just to have the time. I promise you this, no matter what I need to do to keep it.
I will not let anything happen. I NEED ToS, I'm sure some of you understand just how much.

Really, we don't even need to limit ourselves to just Avatar, just look at some of the other discussion on here, particularly on the IRC. It's real friendship. Even if Avatar-related activity fluctuates with time, I'm confident we will stay together.

Maybe we do need to build stronger friendships between each other as well though, this is why I added such things as the meetups forum. We also created a Tree of Souls facebook page a while back but never actually got around to mentioning it.

If anyone has any ideas, you only need to ask though...

WE need to create a convention for Avatar--not a Sci Fi generic like they will box us into very soon (just wait--I bet this happens), but a convention or conventions just for Avatar & Avatar-related stuff. I think that one just for Avatar would take off like wildfire & there could be workshops for story-work (fill in the blank here....), meetings with the actors, news about the future of Avatar--Maybe even getting Jim on board (wish-list)...

What "better" way to meet everyone for real than in the party-like setting of a really good convention?

If this idea sucks---shout me down.......
I love this idea. If anyone wants to get started on it, I know I'm in, and if people are really considering doing it, then I will need to discuss this with the others, but I'm sure I can give you a subforum for it

This is something more than "just another site" its a community, its a family. I understand the fact that some won't stay here, do I like it? Heck no! But I try not to dwell on that, you're here now, when it happens... well let's not think about that.

And HNM, once I get my paycheck I'm donating to this site frequently, because I want to be here as long as you do, and as you said, I NEED ToS.

Just as I said right before you This forum is going nowhere, so no one has to worry about that. There will always be at least one other person to help with it

I will always be coming here because everyone here is awesome. I love all you guys too much. ToS will always be here and everyone here is always there for each other when we need it most.

Plus, when Avatar comes out on Blu Ray/DVD on April 22, we will have so much more to talk about because we can watch the movie whenever we want, and as many times as we want.

It would seem, my original post means nothing anymore, these users have stolen my thread from me

^ I like that answer!

Don't think about that! Don't dwell on those negative thoughts. I, personally, know that I am not leaving anytime soon, as long as someone else is here. I think that if we all want to stay here badly enough, we'll find things to talk about, whatever they may be. And I think it would be amazing if I could ever meet someone from here in real life!

See the thing is that this will not end with a bang, but will simply slowly fade into the night. Although Avatar may always have a special place, it eventually disappear. The movie itself has lost most of it's significance for me, the forums still have people I enjoy talking to though.

I donated: now I'm stuck here.

Really though, I was thinking about leaving, but there're still two things I hope will come about while I enjoy my stay. Gives me hope.
