"Its only 'here' that we lose perspective, out at the Cosmic Consciousness Level things get a lot clearer. For example, there is an actual star pattern that is traced in the shape of a Willow Tree, across the breadth of the Milky Way! And no wonder Indigenous peoples refer to the 'here after' as the Happy Hunting Grounds! Has it ever occured to anyone why the bioluminescence dots, on the Na'vi!"

Default We will be JUUUUUST FINE

WELL, just like the fact that here in Far West Texas, (OR extreme south New Mexico, and the southern half of Arizona), We DON'T get Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Snow Storms, Earth Quakes, Floods, Mud Slides, Pollution Alerts, Etc., Etc., the water will come NO WHERE NEAR us up here 4,000 feet above Sea Level, Like I SAID folks, LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION.

We've already lost 40% in the last 40 years, haven't we? (According to HOME.)

A wild Nimwey appears!

Yeah, most of us will be fine, but the delicate marsh ecosystems in many parts of the world will perish.

Unfortunately, many of these places are also carbon sinks, so the problem will again exacerbate itself through our ignorance.

On the other hand, water is very good at destroying things. If there were more ice, and it all melted, destroying human civilizations and drowning 99% of humans, the phytoplankton in the ocean would eventually reverse the process and the icecaps would reform, revealing some nice chunks of dirt for new organisms to colonize in the absence of the worst species ever to walk our planet.

Sapient Echinoderms, anyone?

Anything else sapient would be just as bad, if not worse.
