Default What is living in your pond?

Now you can find out what is living in your pond (or in lakes, streams and even oceans) by taking a sample of water and extract and analyze the DNA in it. It is Danish researchers that have developed the new method.

Hey, that's cool.

Might be a good tool for tracking threatened species.

Seems especially useful for oceans, since the overall health of oceans is harder to monitor and manage.

The only thing I think I disagree with about this development is that it is much more fun to wade into a pond in your shorts and bare feet with a net and see what you can catch.

Perhaps, but this would be easier for many people. More awareness can't exactly hurt
