Default Videos: JC at Hobbit premiere, and DeepSea Challenge

Kaltxi, everyone!

I had dinner at a Chinese restaurant recently, and here's a "fortune" from a fortune cookie that I got that's sort of Avatar related:
"Your eyes will be opened to a world full of beauty, charm, and adventure."
Now that's something Jake Sully could appreciate, right?

Anyway, check out these video links:

DEEPSEA CHALLENGE Blog -- National Geographic

Richard Taylor talks about Weta’s work | Hobbit Movie News and Rumors | TheOneRing.net

The first link is a NatGeo video of James Cameron talking about his findings from the DeepSea sub dive to the trench he did earlier this year.
The second link is a video with "Behind-the-Scenes" footage from The Hobbit, and it includes footage from the Wellington premiere...with JC seen there speaking to a reporter (at the 3:39 mark).
Not surprising that JC attended the Wellington premiere of The Hobbit (since he bought a home in NZ, worked with Weta on Avatar, and is friends with Peter Jackson).

Also, I found out that one of my local movie theaters will be showing The Hobbit in the HFR 3D. Can't wait to see what the film looks like in HFR (48fr per second) 3D! It'll give us a hint at what the Avatar sequels will look like in HFR 3D, b/c JC will most likely be filming at either 48fps or 60fps.

JC, push it to 60! Hopefully, The Hobbit will run for a while like Avatar did. That would give me more of a chance to see it at some point, since I'd really rather see it in 3D, all things considered.

60fps would be good... people will realise that motion blur is not a normal part of films, but a patch to stop motion looking like a flipbook when played at artificially low framerates while reducing detail.

Interesting, a premiere in New Zealand - although of course JC was going to be there in that case

Was it just me, or did the opening shot of the second video remind anyone else of Avatar with the flying over the trees?
