FIrst nations peoples deeply moved by the meaning of Chief Theresa Spence's hunger Strike (She herself speaks on her reasons for doing so here)
Chief Spence exclusive interview CBC December 18, 2012 - YouTube Have formed a nation wide movement called "Idle No More" which is a call for first nation leaders and peoples to come together and have there voices heard. Her simple request a meeting with the Prime minister Harper to address through dialog the faiiling relations betwean "The people" and the Canadian Goverment addressing some very deep wounds here going back through generations and deep core issues happening "today" with changes in the policy protecting native treaty rights. Chief Spencer herself speaks on her deep pain in seeing the changes that her people are going through "today" with the goverments disrespect of native lands and nature, and there childrens loss of Traditional langage and values, this is being forced apon them by a system that is distroying there root core values as a people. I urge people here raise there collective voices in support of Canada's First nations peoples this movement has spread world wide with rallys in support of native rights and mother earth taking place in Egypt and Russia, The Media as a whole in the United states have chosen not to report on this issue so quite a number of people are still unaware lets hope this movement remains non violent Irayo Grand Chief Stewart Phillip - Idle No More Penticton - YouTube. - YouTube Last edited by allroock123; 12-29-2012 at 03:45 PM. |
