Not ALL of America is that way, and a FEW of the "live and let live" areas are NOT what you would expext them to be. For example, Everyone in this Conservative, Church going, Cattle Ranching area of far west Texas, KNOWS that I am a post operative, Transsexual Lesbian, that has been in a momogamous relationship with Ateyo for Twenty years, and that due to a loophole in Texas DOMA law, the two of us were LEGALLY MARRIED in San Antonio three years ago.
Two days after it happened, in addition to special news reports being done on our Marriage on four different T.V. Stations, three in ElPaso, and one in San Antonio, we had a two column story written on us on the Front Page of The ElPaso Times.
There is NO ONE within two hundred miles of our place, that does not know who we are, and what our situation is, yet All we have received from anyone was congratulations, or statements like "It was about time".
TRUE this country is not quite as advanced as most on this issue, but Thanks in part to President Obama's leadership where it comes to the treatment of GLBT'S, this Country is
"growing up" FAST.
