I think Tsyalatun te Eyktan Txuratu'itan from Learn Na'vi is going and he mentioned there were possibly two others, one from Norwich and another from Burnley.

We also have a tsmuke from across the pond coming to join us too.....

But I don't know if there is a list of people coming at all. What about Silver Stag, Taronyu Eywa, auroraglacialis and Clarke?

There might end up only being 4 or 5 of us in the end, but it will still be great to meet up again and do stuff together. Although if everyone comes there could be as many as 11 of us, which would be great!

Now is definitely the time to books as when I made a room booking it said only a few rooms were left

Yeah, I'd rather this didn't turn into an instance of "Well, I'll go when it looks like more people are going", cause then it may as well not happen. I know I'll be here, you'll be here, HNM will and Hawnuyunaviyae since he lives here, Nieh Teveie seems pretty set on going but needs to find a roommate, Clarke is on the fence for probably all the usual reasons, and I have maybes from everyone else I've talked to. There could potentially be around 10 from ToS, and Alan would know better about those from other forums. I don't think there is going to be a real list though until about a week before, so I really urge people to not make their decisions based on waiting to see whether it ends up happening, because it is happening in some fashion and there will be at least four of us no matter what.

Yep, that's me -- I'm the tsmuke from "across the pond" who's coming to this London meet-up (thanks in large part to Alan who convinced me to come). Looking forward to it!
And if there's a tsmuke attending the meetup who's in need of a hotel roommate, please let me know.

Ground has movement! Tsyalatun on Learn Na'vi has booked his room at the Premier Inn now and he said there maybe 7 or 8 of us in total. Should be a nice little clan gathering. He added that the hotel is nearly full so book soon to avoid missing out

Good to know we are getting at least one from across the pond... Hopefully a future full meetup in London might happen

Aww....That's a shame matey Hope something changes so you can join us.

I have managed to find a site that might help us see where we might want to go whilst altogether. It is the visit London website. The link below takes you to a list of all the free places to visit:

Free London Attractions - visitlondon.com

And for those who are first time visitors to London there is this page:

Visiting London for the First Time - visitlondon.com

Hope that is all useful info and sparks a bit of chin wagging about what folks would like to do

Alan

Apologies for multiposting, but do we have a plan for viewing Avatar and stuff? There was talk about a lapto/projector or hooking up to a hotel rooms TV?

Also would folks want to watch anyother bits and bobs from AvatarMeet 2012? It is is a wi-fi laptop then we could view them too, like the Na'vi Lesson.

Just some thoughts.

"You have successfully made the following booking with Premier Inn.
We look forward to welcoming you to Premier Inn."

I'll be there, alright. (Weather permitting. )

About Avatar, I think the hotel would be the best way. Anyone with a DVD or bluray player can bring that and we can watch stuff on the room TV (it has been pointed out to me that the hotel TV won't be in HD, but the bluray still doesn't have the break in the middle, and it also has more extras like The Volume, which everyone needs to see at some point )

Tsyal Atun from Learn Na'vi is going to see if he can borrow a bluray player. I presume someone will bring Avatar along....

I'll try and get a copy of the Landau talk and Na'vi lessons on bluray to bring along and watch too. Turns out the hotels 'free wi-fi' is only free for 1/2 hour each day! WHAT!!!

Guess that means I'm getting a mobile data plan then.

I can set up a wireless network when I'm there at least if people want to contribute a little for that.

Bringing a bluray/DVD player sounds look a good bet; I have both copies of Avatar
