I think the last one is a strong possibility since Sigourney Weaver has been announced as being in the movie.

You could have a story narrated by a Na'vi child from 2827 learning at school about the story of Jake and Neytiri and how they created a bridge between the human and the Na'vi, starting a peaceful relationship between them that lasted for centuries.

You could have a quarter of the film telling the story of Moat's childhood.

Won't happen, but there is no reason for it not to and if James Cameron wants it, anything is possible.

You've now made me think of Avatar 2 done in the style of Cloud Atlas.

Clarke's actually right. While 2 won't be a prequel, there's nothing to rule out flashback/dream sequences. Also, of course, human Grace is dead, but all her memory was preserved and she does have a still-alive body around.

Quaritch was a joke though. DNA does not work that way, at all, ever.

Regardless of how stupid and infeasible it is, that's a really, really common plot device, to the point that there are 58 dead-tree pages of examples on the Tropes article about it. The majority are of it being played exactly how Stephen suggested. Just because it's blatantly in violation of several laws of physics doesn't mean it won't appear in Avatar.

On Grace coming back, considering she was absorbed into a planetary consciousnesses the odds of her being used as an "avatar" for said entity would actually sort of work. Sure we see Grace "die" but we never see what happens to either body. Maybe they were "absorbed" into some sort of root....system...and kept "alive". Really all sorts of fun Xenoficition ideas could come into play there.

This being a site which not only will cover literally any work, even if you wrote it yourself and it only has one other reader - not only is there No Such Thing As Notability in their own words, but nobody ever said tvtropes is only a place for hard/medium scifi - the majority it covers is extremely soft; while Avatar is not. Saying "but soft scifi / superhero stuff / whatever" does this doesn't mean it will happen in a completely differently themed film.

I would like to see more of Jake/Neytiri's story for the sequel(s) but at the same time I will be open minded about it , Now if the 4 th movie is a sequel, I wouldn't mind seeing the next generation But overall I am going to trust JC to give us an amazing experience .

I don't see any reason why having younger protagonists would be a bad thing. (That said, let's hope that they're nothing like the people I attended high school with. ) Remember, this is James Cameron we're talking about. Have faith.

IMO, we get a fairly mixed message about how high-school-y the clan would be. From one angle, it looks quite unified and harminous... but you can clearly hear the spite behind "Jakesully will go first."
