We might have a solution from Tsyal on Learn Na'vi who might be able to bring a Bluray player. However, it only has a HDMI connection. So it will be very much dependant on the TV in the hotel and what connections it has. IF they have flat wides screens we might be in luck, but there is no guarantee at the moment.

Woo, just one month I had a HDMI to RCA wire in my giant mass of wires at home, maybe someone has one of those.

Didn't know you could get those as I thought HDMI was digidal and RCA analogue. Maybe there is an A/D converter thing going on. But then I'm not all that clued up on electrickery. Would you be able to borrow one from uni if they have one there?

Just has a bit of a mini brain wave - I have some video cable to connect my phone to a TV and I have Avatar on my phone. The picture might not be too good blown up, bit it could be a fall back.

Also do folks have any ideas on what we went to do each day? I think it would be good to have something sorted before the meet up, even if it is only a loose idea. We don't want to be wasting time on the day deciding really. We want to be out there doing it...living the dream!!

(Hmmmm....was that last bit a tad over the top? Hahahaha )

If anyone has an output converter for VGA/DVI, we could also just use a laptop.

We talked about what we want to do already, I think that's pretty much set. We're not going to be sitting around trying to think of stuff to do, in any case.

Have we? Do we have a list of places would like to visit on which days? What I'm kinda thinking is we visit places close together each day so to minimise travelling and maximise time enjoying.

Ooo...just one other thought. What are we doing for evening meals? It would be great if we could all sit down together to enjoy like a clan meal, but I am concious of potential meal costs doing that. Any thoughts anyone?

If we are able to watch Avatar (I'm sure we'll find a way) I think we need to sit down around 6 PM-ish so it doesn't finish too late as we don't want to annoy folks in the surrounding rooms. (Don't I sound like an old fuddy-duddy!) But we don't want to risk being chucked out.

Eeeee...not long now

A couple pages back, your list was great and I suggested some stuff too. I don't think it would be too hard to discuss possible clan meal options once people are here, since we're not paying for anything in advance.

Aye, sounds good. I'll have to check out what is around the hotel in Edgeware. I think the hotel is not too far from the shopping area in the town with some eating places.

Just been looking at possible places to eat in Edgeware....

There is a "Mascalzone" Restorante Pizzaria thingy on Station road just down from the underground on the way back to the hotel. I guess they do pizzas! (Tel : 020 8951 5533)

A KFC almost next door! HA!

There is a Nandos opposite the station

An "Izagara Ocakbasi Restaurant" Looks a bit oriental (Tel: 020 8951 4460)

"The Green Man Fish and Chips" Restaurant opposite the one above.

Going on a bit further there is a Shayan Persian Restaurant and next door a Sushi Bar.

Soooo... I don't think we will be starving at all! Hehehe

Sounds good! I've been around there a little, but not ever too far from the tube, only in that little mall once or twice.

I might end up missing Thursday daytime - if so, will still be able to get there in the evening, so will update here when I know either say.

I won't be there until Thursday evening and then Friday morning I'll be nipping across to Heathrow to meet CyanRacel off the plane. Probably be back around 11:00 or 12:00 so we'll have to swap numbers so we can meet up with the rest of the clan.

Sorry guys, but I don't think I'll be able to make the meetup after all. I sprained something in my leg a while ago, and since it doesn't seem to be getting better very fast, and getting stranded in the middle of London is not my idea of a good time, I'll have to pass.

However, if there's a lull in the action, feel free to Skype me and make me jealous of all the cool stuff you're doing.
