Well, there are plenty of guides on braiding hair around, but to be really accurate you have to put the hair backwards without parting it in the middle.
Unless your hair is waist-length, it does need to be longer, I'm sure. I know I'd like mine to be that long

Thanks for the reply, honestly.
Well, my hair is a bit longer (However, the tsaheylu-part is longer, I know. But it's hard to find out its exact location. I've been studying the Na'vis' heir for some months.. I think I should draw "plans" & I think I should upload some photos of my "tsaheylu" so far. so I'll do that sometime..)~

The natives of Canada. The bane and likely fall of Central Canada.
They contribute nothing to society and live off the government, but they grow a good ponytail.

afaik, almost everybody who cosplayed as a native Na'vi or Avatar driver in AvatarMeet Seattle 2012 was using a wig (myself including
) - there are costume, carnaval, Halloween etc. shops, some have Na'vi wigs. People buy readymade ones, & add their beads, feathers, leather adornments - here, creativity blossoms & your imagination is your only limit I got LOADS of beads! Mine is from Rubie's Costume Co., it seems they don't have it in Hungary (UK, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal... but not Hungary but maybe they have an online store? Google it...That is, if you Want a wig at all if you can make a tswin (= queue, = tsaheylu braid) with your own hair, then Eywa be praised you might want a hair extension to make your tswin longer, that's all. In any case Sarah Noel is an expert on Na'vi full-native costume. All this was her fault! she started it in Seattle 2011, & MOMS added fuel to this fire - they showed at the museum all painted up with loincloths on... The next year, lo and behold - we had 23 cosplayers cosplay is contagious.

Before I REALLY became involved with Avatar, I had Niri trim by braid because it was SO HEAVY. Now I have a skinny rat tail that reaches my txim, but no longer. NOW I'm kicking myself! It would have been GORGEOUS by now,
As for the rest of my head, I truly want it shaved into a mohawk! Oeya muntxate would rather I not!ta Oetsyip ATEYO te SYAKSYUK |

heck if All of us could afford a natual Na'vi-like tswin, that would be awesome - but then again, you would have blond, chestnut, & red-haired Na'vi.
And unfortunately not everyone's hair is thick enough to make a good & proper tswin, leave along the length... Ateyo, oeyä eylan Patxi (you know her, indirectly - remember the little angel koakte her grandma? ) had such thick hair that only One braid out of two was as thick as my wrist! and if she made just one it was about as thick as a ship rope! Eventually she cut her hair for the same reason as you did, she was getting headache, but I still say: "Pity!" it was such a beautiful authentic-looking braid... or two braids - if we are talking Na'vi islanders

I like your notion of double tswin island people! (Wonder what Cameron would say?)
Srane I remember Pxati and her Koakte Ahona! I like the idea of a fat braid going down my back. I think a mohawk is an excellent solution to lightening the hair load! |

(I'm proud of my growing hair. )My Na'vi-hair-exemplars are Neytiri or her Sa'nok & I need my "other hair" (not the Tsaheylu-part) to cover the beginning of the Tsaheylu-part, like Na'vis have. Someday I post pics of my hair so far & my not too long Tsaheylu (compared to the Na'vis') but I thank Eywa for giving my hair the chance & for giving me enough hair ![]() ~ Well, I think it's your hair, your muntxate sh-/would understand your wishes.
