At last, I couldn't remember which post I'd asked for advice re ngati kame etc.
Thanks for your advice, ma eylans. And just to bump up again.... Can anyone translate the Na'Vi that's sung so softly at the end of the track from the soundtrack called 'Jakes First Flight'? I'm sure I've heard eylans and mawey.... so calm friends right? |

Super thread bump!
The lyrics you hear at the end of Jake's First Flight are lyrics from the Tree Song: Utralä anawm ayrina' lu ayoeng, a peyä tìtxur mì hinam awngeyä Na aysengek afkew mì pun Na ayvul ahusawnu mì aynari Na seze a 'ong ne tsawke Utralä anawm ayrina' lu ayoeng a peyä tìrol mì awnga We are all seeds, of the Great tree Whose strength is in our legs like the mighty trunks, in our arms As sheltering branches, in our eyes the blue-flower which unfolds to the sun. we are all seeds of the Great tree whose song is within us -Txonä Rolyu

Na'vi Phonetics and Phonology
The blue/red colors on that chart are wrong. Ts canot be syllable final nor can n, for example, start consonant clusters. The chart should be identical to Language Log <reported this to LearnNavi> |

Walas00, thank you very much for your detailled lessons and explanations. I have learnes several languages in my life (German,English, French, Spanish, Quechua, Gaelic, Maya, Sumerian) and am fascinated also by created language like the one of the Na'vi or the Elves languages in Lord of the Rings. I will be following your lessons.

Zola'u Nìprrte' | Welcome - Tirea Aean
Na'vi Grammar made simple. I recently did a post about the sounds that includes recordings |

Recordings are especially helpful to me since I'm really awful at speaking
Looking at it, meanings and structure come back to me but I can't pronounce anything.

if you can pronounce like those recordings, then you can pronounce anything. I suspect that r and rr are ruining your party. You are certainly not alone there.

Definitely those, but I also find some vowel sounds hard to remember. It's true though, "rr" is the biggest mystery.

Had a lot of problems with the ejectives in the beginning as well, but now I'm fortunately able to pronounce them. At least something, eh. Last edited by Eana Unil; 05-29-2013 at 04:37 PM. |
