Does Curiosity Kill the Cat?

Okay, so I'm new here. I signed up at AF when it first opened, pretty much. I was not banned from there, sent here by anyone over at AF, nor do I have any agenda. I actually found ToS because there was a link at the bottom of the AF page I was on, so I was curious and clicked through it. Being that I generally like having a consistent user-name across as many sites as possible, I signed up here too.

And now I read that there was some kind of fight, which I missed?

Now, I know that I could be prying into areas that are best not re-hashed or exposed to the public. If that is the case, my inquiry ends here and I will not mention it again.

However, if not, I continue on with my question. What the heck happened? I see some user-handles here I recognize from AF, then I read things about bannings? The reason I'm asking is I think it would be best (if possible--again see above) for everything to get out in the open as much as possible so no one harbors lingering misunderstandings.

Again, if this isn't possible or would only make things worse, I'll drop this and, heck, you can delete this thread.

Either way, I'm going to post my fan-fiction here on this forum too...

Well, you probably heard that the AF forum layout changed. The way it changed set off a firestorm, and some members left to form this forum. There was a flame war over that, and it got very nasty for a while. But today we buried the hatchet in a lengthy discussion, and now both forums are on friendly terms.

This thread reminds me of a story in which I looked like such a badass. Let me set the scene and I shall regale you with this most memorable tale.

At the time, I was working in a garden centre, not exactly thrilling I know but I'm setting the scene. This old man, who looked like a bit of a nutter with his flat cap, walked up to me and said "Excuse me young man, what's the best thing for killing cats?" He must have been expecting me to lead him to the rat poison or something, but I didn't, and with all my colleagues in earshot, I replied smugly "Curiosity I think, but sadly we don't stock it."

Anyway, nobody seemed particularly impressed by my wit and the old man looked at me blank.... but I thought I was cool.

I do apologize for this unholy thread necromancy. I've had two pints.

so i recently bought a townhouse, and i am still moving in and putting stuff away. anyway, i brought my 4 y/o cat over to her new home, and Babs (named after my Aunt Barbara who rescued her) immediately wanted to check out the woods behind the house. well, two hours later she walked up the driveway where i was raking all the millions of leaves that have piled up, and she had a dead mouse in her mouth and plunked it down in front of me. nope, curiosity ain't getting this one!
