Default Use of the Oculus Rift for 3D models...?

Please refer to the following thread for an example:

This new Oculus Rift thing could probably have some cool applications for those of you that pursue 3D modeling programs.

It would make it really easy to get a good look at your models in a more realistic setting.

Thoughts?

For current programs i dont think Oculus Rift matters that much. It wouldnt be more then a nice feature. Viewing your models really isnt an issue after you work with a program for a while and the controls for moving through 3D space are used without thinking.
I always love to see futuristic interfaces like in iron man etc but sofar by far, the best way is a good wacom tablet/cintiqe and a keyboard. Dont think its going to change real soon. And ive tried different tools but they lack the amount of keys or the relaxed precision of a pen. Oh and a few big color calibrated screens would help also.
Take touchscreens for example and trying to draw on that with a nice app and your fingers. Its possible but its 5 steps backwards. Now lets go sci-fi and remove the touchscreen. Youre still struggling with your fingers
Hope to be wrong on this matter tho and in time im pretty sure i will be but i think it will take a while.
Also doesnt mean oculus rift isnt pretty awesome tho. Next to games i thougt of interactive movies. Take avatar for example but then see the whole movie (slightly different ofc) through say Jake's eyes, would be pretty intense!
