and the history...

the avatar city transit authority was founded on june 7th 2179. about 39 years after the war with the RDA the na'vi accepted the idea of a transit system around their continent. so they started building the cities for the human techs there.. then 7 years later the city of AVATAR CITY was founded. then 5 years later BAY CITY was founded. then 9 years after that the city of NEW BAY CITY was founded. then thats when everything happened. ALL of the technology is either solar powered OR runs off of hydrogen/water.

in the year 2200 the umbrella corp gave funding for the new train project's then they seized control of everything. then they took over the security cams and started to help traffic congestion... but pandora was dying very slowly so the umbrella corp created a antidote/weapon to help save pandora. but it was a failure... the machine backfired and started its own AI. THATS where they screwed up. the new AI system controlled everything i mean EVERYTHING. then the system had to reboot. so then here is where i come along in the story about 500 years later. pandora got into some sort of hibernation mode. i had to reboot the system to regain control. then i went into the main umbrella complex on pandora and i accessed the hardware to reboot the system. then it did reboot and pandora was saved. the transit system was back online.

Well, in fairness, if the Na'vi had to pick a motorized way of traveling it'd probably be the train. Ships lot of people at once so there's less pollution, quiet and calm... engines are never good but I do think trains are the lesser of all evils around here

Hydrogen just doesn't have the energy density required to power a helicopter as helicopters are horribly inefficient.
