Default Na'vi Class 103 Up on Naviteri.org

Kaltxì ma frapo,

With apologies for it taking so long I finally managed to get the Na'vi lesson from AvatarMeet 2014 edited and uploaded. This is Na'vi Class 103 and you can get the links to them on Dr Paul Frommer's Naviteri.org website:

Naviteri.org

You'll find them at the end of his post for 31st March. There are four of them and cover the whole lesson which was about 2 hours long

You also find links to Class 101 and Class 102 here:

Na'vi class videos 101 and 102

It's a good time to learn na'vi

Kìyevame ma aysmuk,

Alan

Irayo nìtxan ma Sarah I appreciate it ma tsmuke.

Can we expect a 104 for those of use poor (literally) slobs who could not make it to the meetup this year?

Afraid no class 104 this year. It was a refresher on all the previous classes that seemed to go down really well with folks. I did video it, but there won't be a lesson video as in previous years.

No worries ma tsmukan. . All the previous Na'vi lesson Karyu Pawl gave can be accessed on his blog website. Glad you were able to join us via the wonders of the Internet.

i was reading a bit on the naviteri.org link posted by Alan, and one phrase stood out in particular, brought back some feelings...

Rey'eng lu susyang_"the balance of life is fragile"

yes, it is.

I feel that all AVATAR fans should know Na'vi, but I'm way too lazy to learn another language.

Maybe when things smooth out in my life I'll sit down and try to learn it.

Why? The Na'vi language is much easier than nearly any Earth language to learn as a second language. Give it a shot!

Understood. You're not the only one. I'm looking forward to this. I'll be around if you have any questions

I would love to be fluent in Na'vi. The trouble is finding the time and also needing to keep in practice with it. Also my understanding of English grammar and terminology is really not that good (shame on me!) to grasp the technicalities to be really good at Na'vi and understanding its construction.

Having said that, I try to poke a bit of Na'vi in every now and again. In fact, to such an extent that I have nearly sent emails at work with 'kaltxì' and 'irayo' in them! Hehehe

Kiyevame,

Alan

Yeah, that would def slow things down..

Thankfully, it is now possible to actually learn the language without needing all that. LearnNa'vi did start out with Linguist pioneers, but if you find the right teacher, you can learn easy the natural way. It's just that these types of teachers may be sort of rare at this time. (I'm one of them, you probably guessed.)

Once everything in my life calms down I may give it a go. Luckily there are people around who have been learning/speaking/teaching Na'vi for years and know the best places to start.
